Honest review about NITJ

Many of the courses are pretty out dated and is a bit hard to relate to the current world scenario. Each semester is about 5 months long and exams are conducted once in every 2 months. The exams are difficult when compared to other colleges.

Yes, National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar provides students with placements and most of them get placed into good companies. The average package of mechanical engineering is about 7lpa. Students become eligible for placements in 7th semester. Many popular companies like Mahindra, Honda, Amazon, Microsoft visit this college.

For general and OBC students with annual income above 5lakh- 88000/- per semester. For general and OBC students with annual income between 1 and 5lakh- 46340/- per semester. For SC/ST, general and OBC students with annual income below 1lakh-25500/- per semester. SC ST OBC and general EWS students can avail scholarships like FFE and NSP

The overall capus life in this college is just above average. The campus helds two fests a year- Techniti- Technical fest of the college and Utkansh- Cultural fest of the college. There are about 10 clubs in the college related to aeromodelling, photography, dance, robotics and others and students exchange their knowledge in these clubs. The infrastructure of this college is just as much as required by the students.

The hostel Life at this college is a but rough to be honest. The rooms are mostly doublly shared with very little space left to walk and strech around after placing two beds, 1 chair and a table. There is power supply almost round the clock in the hostel which is really a great thing. The internet provided is mediocre. Mess food is something really bothering and makes the hostel Life much miserable.

Apart from this college I've applied only to Manipal Institute of Technology. It's a pretty good college and I made into it but I kept it as my back up choice if I didn't make it into a good NIT. I chose this college over the latter because of the prevalence of national importance. The admission process in this college is pretty simple and easy. One is admitted on the basis of their JEE mains rank through JISAA counselling.

The faculty are highly experienced and we'll versed in their own subjects. The ration of faculty to students is about 1:60. They can be easily approached by any student in case they face any difficulty. The exams in this college are a bit on the difficult side. There are 2 exams in each semester 1 mid semester of 30 marks 1 end semester of 50 marks and 20 marks for assignments and teacher assessments
