What Students Say
Likes
- I really like the diversity here the students are from different parts of the country as well as international students are here as well. They also bond with everyone and we get to know about their state or country
- We have special amenities for NRI students here like special hostels and different mess food.. anyone can opt for that hostel tho.. its just bit more ex[ensive and even for girls Mblock has really good facilities literally feels like a hotel in here
- We have really good cultural fests every years.. we have two big fests here AARUUSH and MILAN and we have big stars like samay raina, jasleen royal, Local Train coming here almost every year. the girl to boy ratio is here
Dislikes
- Batch Strength: since the batch size is bigger the competition is also greater hence it gets difficult to score good CGPA in the class. But the institute offers career development programs for students in the curriculum to focus on career centric
- strategies. Hostel food is not so good in here as people from north wouldn't like to eat idli and dosa almost every day, but they also have really good shops that sells good north indian food and we also have tiffin services that external shops setup
- Fees is a bit higher as compared to other institutes which might be a big issue for some students who don't have a good financial background. Language problem always arises as most of the people here don't know there mother tongue that is tamil
Course Curriculum Overview
in first year every branc has same subject so everyone has to study every subject.. be it a biotech student studying maths or a CSE student studying bio so i think that is a bit irrelevant for students.. but other than that we have subjects like Engineering Graphic Design that is basically Drawing but in online mode and many students get inspired from that subject and have a thought to opt for graphic designing or anything related to creatives field..almsot every month we have cts for the subjects so that is better than mid sems in a way because we dont feel pressurised in the end during finals as we all have partially studied for the course in the previous CTS
Internships Opportunities
Im still in second year and i am looking for internships here although my classmates got their internships in companies like Fugen Tech and JA assure so yes the scope is alot but one has to have a good skill set. building connections and very good linkedin profiles is also necessary
Placement Experience
highest and average package offered during SRM placements in 2024 stood at INR 52 LPA and INR 7.19 LPA respectively. Further over 900 companies visisted the campus for placements and provided over 5878 offers to the students of batch 2024 tilly july 27, 2024.. Earlier the highest and average package offered during SRM placements in 2023 stood at INR 57 LPA and 7.50 LPA respectively.. further a total of 1317 comapnies visited the campus.. My plans after getting the degree is yet to be deicded but mostly i will be going for higher studies as i want to study more.. other than that it really depends on the situation
Fees and Financial Aid
the year-wise fees is 2,50,000 for branches other than CSE Core or CSE AI-ML For CSE and CSE AI-ML the yearly fees is 4,50,000 as they provide special mac-labs for those students Registration fees is 10,000 The college offers SAPs for students who want to study abroad Exam fees is around 3500 for every sem end exams For students who score more than 90 percentile in JEE exam get a scholarship of 1,00,000 Those who get double digit rank in SRMJEE they also get a scholarship of around 1,00,000
Campus Life
AARUUSH and MILAN are the two technical and music fest here celebrated in months of sept-oct and march-april respectively... almost every type of book is available in the library ranging from competitive exam books to tamil/hindi/english literature books..
Hostel Facilities
okay so mblock has 2 sharing AC with Attached bathrooms that costs around 2,80,000 including mess and for laundry they take 8k more every year.. its a first come first service for every student they have to login their online student portal provided by srm where all the hostel facilites are present the student can choose what he/she wants based on their pricing and availablity because most of the rooms are booked within 5 mins after opening the hostel booking services so one has to be ver y very very quick with their transactions.. we have rented accomodations here as well that are not under SRM but very near to the college
Admission
I had applied in Shiv Nadar university and also got accepeted there but i wasn't getting my desired course there that is electronics or computer science and also i wanted to have a college in the south part of india as here there is more strictness and motivation related to academics and more seriousness as compared to colleges in north.. i did get rejections from colleges like vit because i couldn't get a good rank in their exams that is VITEEE.. the admission process of my college is to apply for SRMJEE phase 1/2/3 any phase you are comfortable in.. although i would recommend to apply in phase 1 as there is less competition as compared to phase 2 and 3 and more chances of getting your desired branch
Faculty
For every 60 students here we have a faculty advisor and academic advisor who are like mentors here for every 60 students and they help their voice reach to higher authorities. The FA is quite freindly with the students here and all students are quite comfortable with their respective FA. Our maths and physics faculty was really nice.. they helped me get through topics of their subject by explaining things to me in detail and they were also ready to take up my doubts if i had any in their own cabin. Its on your luck if you get some strict faculty.. I had one of the strict faculty in my first year who didn't even let children go to washroom in a 1 hour class and used to shout alot.. but that's fine the other professors were quite good and chill with everything. there are 3 cts for every subject here and one end sem there are no mid sems or anything like that.. for every subject the course handling faculty of that particular course/subject decides what to be done for every ct.. it can be a mcq type quiz or a poster making or a seminar on any topic.. the course handling faculty deicdes that.. the internals here are 60% and 40% are the externals here means its better to get good scores in the internals as they have a high weightage.. the semester exams are pretty easy to clear as per my experience (up till second year). like out 60 i have heard 2 students failing completely in a subject so for that you have to reappear for the exam in the next sem
Interview Experience
Nope we didn't have any interview or GD They had online admission test and it had 3 rounds which tested physics and chemistry and maths of each student. It was a monitored test for each student and no one can cheat because it cancels your application if the system sees you even switching your eye
