Course Curriculum Overview

4

1. This curriculum has best-in class facilities in the field of teaching, extra-curriculur, and placements which influenced my decision to choose this course. 2. The college has an up to date curriculum meeting the industry standards. With great placement support and amazing faculty and alumni network, a student never faces any problem with real-world applications and further academic pursuits 3. The teaching quality of the college can be improved and the level of course needs to be increased. 4. Moderate frequency of exams and timing of exams is good. This creates good study envirnoment with not-so-high pressure on the students for performance. The difficulty of the exams ranges from low to medium.

Internships Opportunities

4

All the companies that come for placements also hire interns from 2nd year of the students. The projects are done in each course curriculum for each subjects and task is supported by faculties properly.

Placement Experience

5

This college provides best-in-class campus placements. The students become eligible for campus placements from 3rd year. All kinds of companies visit the college from FAANG companies for software development to tier 2 and 3 companies. They offer roles in software development, management and financial consulting, analysts etc. Around 300 offers were made for my particular course of Computer Engineering The highest package for the batch 2024 was Coinbase with first year CTC of 47.4 LPA and average package was 11 LPA this year 50 % students secured placements due to recession and less hiring My plans after getting the degree are to work in the field of Software development.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year-wise tuition fees paid : 2,40,000 INR per year approx Fee Breakdown : Tuition fees from 2020-2024 : 2,40,000 INR Caution fees: NA Registration Fees : JAC Delhi Registration Fees 1500 INR Admission Fees : NA Development Fees : NA Lab Fees : NA Optional Fees : 1. Opting for hostel Hostel Room Fees : 17000 INR to 24000 INR / semester depending on the room specifications Mess Fees : 17000 INR / semester Scholarships : EWS scholarship : full amount or based on requeirement Merit basis : 10,000 INR for batch topper Category based scholarship : dependent on parent's income. College Scholarship based on Category : DASA scheme : These students were selected based on the SAT score and their counselling was carried seperate from JAC Delhi conselling Tuition Fees : Based on SAT score, highest scorer based on a cut-off will pay the same amount as general students i.e. 240000 INR per year. After the cut-off their fees will increase to 480000 INR based or more based on their score again. Trend of the Tuition Fees : The tuition fees have seen an increase in amount with 10% increase in last 4 years Hostel Fees : Hostel fee have seen major hike from 7000 INR per year to 17000 INR per semester in the year 2022.

Campus Life

5

Annula fests : Engi-Fest in Febraury, Yuvaan in April. Other fest : Techfest, music fest, freshers welcome, etc The library of this college has extensive books in all the possible fields that are taught in the college. The clasrooms are airconditioned and have a white board and projector facilities for presentation. DTU has amazing sports facilities and a lot of extracurricular activites There are several student run social groups and clubs which allow students to develop their passion and expolore new fields.

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel facilities of this college are poor. The rooms are not spacieous, not renoveted and decade old constructions. No AC and poor hygiene. They have common washrooms and poor safety. Meal quality is also poor. Registration is done internally through the college portal and only students who can provide proof of living outside Delhi range of 47 kms from the college can avail hostel. The hostel prices is on the expensive side for a Government funded college and not worth the money.

Admission

I applied to several other colleges through JOSAA and JAC admission counselling portal. I got a confirmed admission from several top NITs like VNIT, MNNIT, NIT Surathkal, NSUT etc. My reason for choosing DTU over these colleges were : 1. Branch : I was able to secure myself Computer Engineering in this college earlier than any other college 2. Location :Delhi being a good location compared to any NITs 3. Placement Support : Best placement support than any other college 4. Co-Curricular and Clubs and Culture : This college scores higher than other colleges in this field. I got rejected from three top NITs, i.e. NIT warangal, Trichy and Surathkal and Several IITs. I had low rank in JEE Mains and JEE advanced due to which I couldn't secure a good position adn desired in these colleges. The admission process is fairly smooth where we appear of JEE mains and apply on JAC counselling for colleges. Through that, based on our rank in the exam, we get the available branch through cut-off. International Students who didn't appear for JEE Mains can apply to JAC based on SAT scores and they will undergo a similar process. Overall admission experience is fairly smooth

Faculty

5

Faculty to student ratio = 1 : 25 Student-faculty relationship is the best in this college. The students are provided good support and all-time available help. The students are encouraged to perform their best and are supported in any case possible. The quality of the faculties is top-notch with the ost-learned persons of the country teaching students. I personally liked prof Mrs. Rajni Jindal who taught me Operating Systems. There are other good faculties available in almost all the fields and I personally can vouch for the courses that I opted during the course of my gradutation, that are : Machine Learning, Data Science, Database Mnagaement, Algorthm Design and Analysis, Statistics and Probabilty, Artificial Intelligence. There are not any such faculties that I had difficulty dealing with since all of them are so supportive in all my ambitions. Each student in this course has to go through several minor and major exams to clear the course. Minor exams include Class tests which are held on monthly basis and they have share of 30 % in his grades. Major Exams are Mid-Term and End-Term exams and they constiture 30 % and 40 % respectively. This exam was later updated to include only mid-tem and end-term exams with share of 30 % and 50 % with 20 % wightage given to projects. The exams have medium-high difficulty but the pass rate is more than 95% The course curriculum is highly relvant to the industry as well

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
