Placement Experience
The placement is very good in MBBS . You can easily rely on yourself. After completing the 4 and half years of MBBS there is 1 year of complementary intership in the hospital where you get 23 thousand as salary per month.
College Events
There are various event celebrated in the college including the two main college event that is Synchisis and medifest. Synchisis is mainly organised by junior doctors association and medifest is by student union . Being a government college and staying in the heart of Gauhati it has the best auditorium in the city
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is very less as compared to others. At the time of admission the fee was only 28 thousand and after that you have to pay only 3 thousand per year for the next 5 years. It is very less due to government hospital
Fees and Financial Aid
There is various scholarship provided by government. One of the good scholarship is Ishan Uday for north Eastern region which provides 7800 per month for MBBS student. And there is scholarship for ST and minority muslims also.
Campus Life
All are good. There is a big ground for sports provide with light for nightime also. There is large laboratory can be regarded as best of North east for better diagnosis of different type of disease. The hospital is itself very big. One can easily loss in the hospital.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is very good. There are total 5 number of UG and 4 PG hostel. Infrastructure is very good. All essential service are provided regularly. There is no problem for water or electricity. All are provided by government with free of cost. Only mess fees is to be paid which is 1500 per month.
Alumni/Alumna
They are very helpful. All of them inspired us to be great doctors. They helped us in learning different diagnosis of diseases . To help better understand and contact with patients. Most of the senior are in verg good place including neurosurgeon.
Faculty
Gauhati medical college has the best faculty among all the top medical college of India. Maximum of the faculty are from AIIMS JIPMER MAMC etc. The education quality is also very good being an government college.
