Course Curriculum Overview

In first year the course is more of generalized and its pretty much same for all the branches but after first year the course gets more oriented to your branch. Many courses are very bookish seems sometimes not of much relevance in real life but as we proceed the courses becomes more relevant

Internships Opportunities

Mostly internships are given to students of 3rd year.i have listened about seniors getting an intern in oracle,google and many other companies. Most roles for computer science students are of Software developer.

Placement Experience

Yes, iit ropar provides placements to 4th year students.Also, many preplacement offers are also made to 3rd year students who are doing there internship.Many companies like Google, Microsoft, oracle ,facebook, Amazon etc make offers

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for obc: Hostel+mess (per semester) = Rs 36260 Academic fees(per semester )= Rs.33484 Fees for sc/st Hostel+mess (per semester) = Rs.36260 Academic fees(per semester)= free There are many scholarship provided by the college and also by external organisation like reliance etc. College mainly provides scholarship to students having family income less than 5 lakh

Campus Life

The main colleges fests are Zeitgeist, Aarohan, Revanche ,Advitya. There are almost all type of clubs here from damce,music to oratory, all technology clubs , finance club, entrepreneurship clubs, food club and many more.

Hostel Facilities

Here, There are different hostels for different years of Students. For first year we have Chenab hostel (east-side). Here, In one room we have two students living together. Also, mess is not attached two hostels we have three messes and different mess is allotted to different years of Students. Food quality is good.

Hostel Fee: INR 36260 per year

Admission

I gave jee advanced exam and according to my results and as my priority was cse branch so i chose iit ropar over other colleges. I didn't gave any other exam other than jee mains and jee advance so i had only this best option

Faculty

There are good enough faculties to teach and every batch is further divided in groups and classes are held according to groups. There are TA's assigned to your group for each course and they help you in solving problems and tutorial sheets for maths or chemistry

Interview Experience

Yes, Its an IIT college and we have to qualify both jee mains and jee advance.I prepared for two years for jee advanced. Its a multiple choice based paper and it can be given by students of science maths after giving 12th boards

MY HONEST REVIEW ABOUT MY COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

from 6th semester students become eligible for the placements and they should not have any backolgs or reappers in the exam and they should have morethan then 5 cgpa . as i am from the 2nd yeari donot know more aboutm the placement offered made but the average packagr is 3.5 to 4 lakhs per annual and around 70 to 80 percent of students are get selected in placement . and planns after getting the degree is to do higher studies in aerospace designing in the aircrafts.

Why I chose LPU ?

Placement Experience:

Here, the placement drive starts at the beginning of the 5th semester and goes till the end of the 8th semester. Here, all MNC like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Capgemini, and many other companies come to our campus for hiring. In the very last year 2 students got selected with a prestigeous 2.5cr & 1 cr packages.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students are eligible for the campus placement. Either they get internship or they get placement offers . Number of companies visited are more than 50. I will give some examples of some best companies like google , microsoft, accenture, virtusa, lenovo , Paypal, shadii. Com , JP morgan and many more other good companies visit to our college. Highest package last year was 52 lakh and the average package was 6 lakhs . More than 70 percent Student are getting placement. My plans after the degree is to get a good job in a good company

An honest Insight of my college LPU

Placement Experience:

From the 6 semester you will be eligible for the placement drive. Many companies visited LPU for recruitment and some of them are MNCs also The highest package is 1 crore from my batch and average is 7LPA. Around 90 to 95 % get placed.

The course curriculum should be rated on how useful and complete it is. A good one covers all important topics like Software , Networking , Automata , SQLetc. it is mix theory and practical work . For CSE studendent there are coding laguage like C++ in 3rd sem and DSA in 4th semester.

The best out of best about iit ropar

I applied to iit gandhinagar electrical engineering and got rejected as my jee advanced rank was not as par as required to take the course.the admission process of our college is based on an examination called jee advanced and if u get a good rank and pass that examination u can enter our college.i also applied for iit hyd,iit jodhpur etc in which I have got an admission in another branch as I said earlier as I like the electrical engineering branch I joined iit ropar .or college might be worst in sports in comparison to other iits but they are always better than other iits in reasearch orientation side...Read More
