College review

Overall the college is good. You will have great exposure as it located in chennai the capital city. the placement scenario is also good and living and growing fir me was a wonderful experience. I would say go for it .

The course and curriculum was amazing at srm University. They had a balance curriculum which includes proper course and relaxation time for students. We had basically four exams per semester and each of different weightage .

The placement of srm was quite decent with average salary goes from 5.5 lac to 6 lac if not more. Great brands comes along with mass recruiters. Unfortunately college does not provide you internship and you have to find it on your own. My advice would be here is to keeping from 2nd year onwards as it would to difficult to find at the last moment. Most of the internships at Bachelor level is stipend less soo its okay to intern for free unless they are providing you with certificate.

There are two major events in our college one is Aaruush which is national level techno management fest and one is Milan which is cultural fest . Apart from this every Department has its own fest too plus there are few small fest organised too.

I would say it is quite expensive for 4 year B.tech degree in srm will cost you around 13 lakhs or soo. This includes hostel plus mess fees also. Rest depends upon the individual student on how he spend .

They did provide scholarship for entrance test rankers and scholars. plus you will additional scholarship if you have 9.5 cgpa or above in your semester.They also arrange loan if any student is interested.

Extra curricular activities i would say are not that good and not much opportunities are present in campus . However you can play different sports separately without the tournament or something as they have good courts and ground to play. Lab and everything are amazing you dont need to go anywhere for that.

Yes i have opted for hostel for 2 Years the rate of 1st and 2nd year hostel are same as 1 lakh which includes hostel+mess. Mess food was okay okay and you will face some problem if are from noth india as the menu and taste is almost gets south indian touch. The hostel was of 3 sharing and common bathroom for all. If you want to spend 50k more you can get Ac rooms with 3 sharing and attach bathroom.

Yes the seniors and alumini network was helpful in each and every stage .they guided us on how to survive and how to plan and organise certain things like fest and or any other type of occasions which would be impossible without them.

The faculty of our Department which is chemical was quite supportive and helpful. I don't know about the other dapartment but our faculty members were quite good. They help you in each and every sector of your problem where it is personal or professional.
