My Review for SRMIST

I would rate my course a humble 8 out of 10. Coding has been my absolute favourite since class 8 and now I want professional-level skills for my coding journey that's why I opted for the CSE course. 1st year since they teach a combination of all subjects coding limelight is a bit less but I work on my own to improve daily. Areas where they can improve are less theory-based and more practice-based classes.

Various companies visit for internship like TCS Wipro and Infosys. As far as my knowledge stipend goes well above 30k and they offer a role of junior engineer. For cracking internship you must have sound projects and good knowledge of DSA and web development projects like portfolio advertisement page etc

Placements of our college are above satisfactory given the scenario of huge job crisis and fierce competition in the IT sector. The average package is somewhere around 10-12LPA AND highest is around 65lpa Companies like TCS Wipro Infosys visit along With FAANG companies and other tech as well. Placements rate are the speciality as 90percent of our students get placed and internship offered at 3rd or 4th year as well. My plans after my BTech journey is to crack GATE And persue MTech from some IIT

Starting with the year wise fees it's 90000 for tuition fees 65000 for hostel and 80000 for mess. Other than that we have to pay 40000 for books and CDC. Since I scored a rank of around 500 in Srmjee i got a scholarship of 65 percent so my tuition fees is deducted from 2 lakh 40 thousand to 90k. Other that for SC/ST the tuition fees is neglected and for other reservations there is wavier in the tuition fees. For lab and caution fees there is nothing as such. You are responsible for the damage u caused and pay accordingly.

Campus life is pretty vibrant and includes a variety of tech fest hackathons music and cultural feat. There are 2 big libraries and u can access to any books of academic or social preference. Faculties encourage participation rather than bookish knowledges and support technical skills. Sports are also facilitated with a huge football and cricket ground basketball court table tennis badminton and volleyball court . Student take part in tech as well as non tech clubs to showcase their talent and improve their soft skills as well. As part of non tech club u can join your mother language club to match your people with the same language. You can enjoy as well as improve your non academic skills be profound for placement training. Taking participation in tech clubs not only help with giving your ideas a proper guidance and shaping your path but also they provide you with new ideas to work and and you meet different people with similar interest for the subject and work in a healthy environment. The college life this becomes a little more that boring studies.

In rooms there is your own study table cupboard side drawer and show rack. Mess quality is a point where they can improve their item selection as a national level university can't only stick to southern traditional food course and repeatative food through out the week. Registration process of hostel is along with the admission and I consider it on a costlier side. If you want to be a day scholar try staying in Chatram Bus stand or Trichy city as availability of daily needs is good there.

I chose this college over others as I wanted CSE and other colleges offered mechanical and civil in jee counselling. Comparing with other colleges there are pros and cons such as college life teaching quality as pros and better placements as cons. I applied for other colleges like NIT/IIIT/IIT and even got selected for NIT but since my rank was around 18000 in mains I got mechanical in NIT Durgapur at the last round. What went wrong was a bit concentration during my preparation phase as I failed to secure a rank under 10k. The examination of our college is SRMJEE and accept seats based on your JEE MAINS rank. Cutoff for SRMJEE IS VERY high as I scored 500 still was able to get scholarship of only 65 percent.

Faculty to student ratio is 6 subject teacher for a class of 60. Mr Ravi is our computer Sir whom we deeply love and respect as he treats us as his friend and makes us enjoy college like a college student. There is no teacher we particularly hate. Sometimes we get angry it's true but later realise they have the burden of so many students and so many classes. For exams there are 5 CLA as internal and 2 semister as external. I have given only 1st Cla and scoring was easy as everything came form the notes our teacher gave.
