Likes
- The infrastructure is well developed. It has full furnished classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with white board, a screen projector and Air conditioners and coolers.
- Girls to boys Ratio. The campus is woman supporting and encourage them to take bold steps. The girl to boy ratio would be 40-60
- Media labs and instruments. The media lab is well facilitated with so many equipments.
Dislikes
- Fees. The college fees is really very high.
- Far from my place. I need to travel a considerable distance to come to college.
- The campus is shared with other institution. Cluster of innovation (CIC) building.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is journalism. It's a professional course. So only academics will not help. Field knowledge and expression is very much required . I chose this course because it provides with the diversity in academics and make me stand out of the crowd. This course is real life based skills. Teaching you how to be socially smart and responsible. How to be more accountable and stand for others. We are given so many options to choose with. The tests and class assessments happen on regular intervals. While the major exams happen once in 6 months. Two exams in one semester namely mid semester and final semester.
Internships Opportunities
Delhi school of journalism provides a great environment for internships and work experience. We are made to attend news channels events to learn their workings and how things are organised. We are also given projects to help us perform better
Placement Experience
The placement starts from the third year itself after the graduation however if you complete your masters your scope of placement and chances of negotiations increases significantly. The companies that offer placements are majorly media Houses like Aaj tak, Nav bharat times, Dainik Jagran, News24 . The placement depends how skilled you are. The placement ratio is 50. As some of the students choose something else as a carrier and do not look for placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fee for the first year is ?79820, and thereafter decreasing by 10k succesful years. The extra fees which you have to pay bedside this admission fee is the exams fees which is ?600. You can avail scholarship from other institutions beside that DELHI university also allows scholarship on merit cum need based.
Campus Life
The campus life is full of fests and events. Being a part of Delhi University, you can also go to other colleges for fest. Weekly seminars and events are held in the college. The college has a small but well maintained library . The classrooms are equipped with smart boards and projectors.
Admission
I had applied into so many colleges. But my first preference was this college DELHI SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM, DU. I had scored good in english, General ability. In order to enroll In Delhi school of journalism they had taken only these two subjects into the consideration hence making my admission easy. Also I could easily get some other college with different course if I would have saved different preferences. But I didn't take the risk and went with the surity.
Faculty
There are enough faculties in the college campus. The faculties are very learned and expert in their fields and profession. They are very helpful be it about studies, profession, sports, personal issues or anything else. They are available for you. We have so many teachers for different subjects like Emotional intelligence, Reporting and editing, history of media , negotiation and leadership, media and communication.
