My experiences in BIT MESRA

Overall I say this is a finest college in India among private Engineering college after bits Pilani. Academic and placement r average but around 80% of people get jobs. Negative part age of this college is reservation for SC and ST categories which fills around 40% of seats and decrease the quality of students. After all of this this is a lavish campus of 750 acres full of greeneries and one can enjoy his college life very cheerfully here.

Course and curriculum of this college is done in very planned way. They follow all the rules and regulations according to AICTE for syllabus and take examinations as per their rules. Most of the syllabus is with the par of IITs. But from k18 batch they have revise that syllabus completely and provide the students syllabus which is important to application based and focussed on practicalities.

Placement and job opportunities of this college is I say good. Average placement package is around 6 lacs but most of them come from consultancy companies. Getting a job in core companies is is hard in this college because of tough competition and low vacancies. Yes this college do provide internships but I am in 2nd year so there is no much experience but I have seen my seniors getting good internships in core companies. Most of them were not paid but they provide good opportunities for projects and skill development.

BIT MESRA is a prestigious college in terms of conducting fest and events. Bitotsav main cultural best of BIT mesra. Many Vinod stars like Sunidhi Chauhan, Mohit Chauhan, Farhan Akhtar, Amit Trivedi ,Sachin Jigar ,etc performed in the college fest. Its main technical fest are Pantheon and other fests are Vajra, Rostra, Genesis ,coalascece etc. These events and facts provide ample opportunities for students to develop their managerial and leadership skills in them. All of this fest or not as in par with IIT but there definitely stand out among many private colleges.

Fee structure all this college is like semi government college and semi private college. Overall fee structure can be taken from site but around 12 lacs is spent on engineering courses. I think it is feasible for average Indian families because this college also provide scholarship for meritorious students. Otherwise this college has a good name for which bank will give education loan easily.

I am pursuing my course under education loan not offered by my college but name of this college is enough to get any education loan for study in bit mesra. BIT mesra provides GP Birla scholarship which is for meritorious students. As my Gpa is more than 8 ,I can avail this scholarship. From last two semesters I am being waived by 20% of my semester fee. But having hi GPA can give you up to hundred percent scholarship this is a golden opportunity for many hardworking meritorious student.

BIT mesra provides a wide range of extra curricular activities. It has more than 16 clubs best on different technical and nontechnical activities. People of different interest can go into different clubs and enjoy their hobbies and interests. Laboratories of different branch is equal with all necessary machines and lab items which is necessary for practical knowledge. I would rate 8out of 10 for our labs. People for sports can play many sports but do not expect high standards. Sports like lawn tennis, golf are not there in the college.

Yes I opted for hostel facility and I rate hostel infrastructure and facilities overall 8/10. The hostels are very large and cover around 300 acres of land. The mess food is not very good but is eatable. Rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and LAN connection. BIT mesra does not provide AC hostels this is a con for many student but ambient temperature in the college is moderate. They provide all the basic facilities like 24 hour water, electricity etc.

Alumuni of BIT MESRA is very helpful and they do very serious job for their juniors. They run BITOSAA all around the globe and come together for various training and placement work. They produce contacts with different firms and organisations.

Faculty of this college are good I say in overall. But as in most of engineering colleges professors of this college are also doing their teaching in the machine way. Some of the teachers are very good some lack experience. But for overall acedemics stand out good in all other Engineering coleges.
