- College and hostel infrastructure needs improvement as many buildings have turned old.
- College is not very responsive to the voice of the students.
- College should support internship from second year onwards.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course includes all the core concepts as well as new topics like AI and machine learning. Strong foundation can be built around these topics. Projects should be included in every semester. This course makes me well prepared for interviews. Exams and tests are conducted regularly. Difficulty is moderate.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are provided with a decent stipend. Google and Microsoft offered Internship to 14 students with a monthly stipend of 100000. Roles are software developer intern or web developer intern.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible to sit for placements from 3rd year. Big companies like Google, Microsoft, JP Morgan, Accenture, BNY Mellon,Tata, L&T and more came for campus placement. Highest package was around 56LPA. Average package was around 8LPA. 82 percent of students were placed in my course. If I did not get placed, I will try for placements off campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
You will be paying 201000 rupees per year if you are a general/OBC category student having annual family income more than 500000. 2/3rd tuition fee waiver is given to those having family income less than 500000. Full tuition fee waiver is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates irrespective of income. Hostel maintainance fees is 4000 and mess charges 17500. Rupees 3000 is taken as caution money every semester. GAABESU alumni scholarship provided to students need based. But You have to pay fees of one student after you start earning.
Campus Life
College life is good considering the no of events happening regularly. There are many groups run by students independently and several college clubs also. Library with vast amount of books. Sports like cricket, volleyball, football, table Tennis, basketball, swimming etc are there. Labs are well equipped with latest technology. Technical and annual fest is held every year.
Hostel Facilities
Room is provided with a bed, an Almirah, and a table. Rooms are four seater. Food quality is acceptable and variety of foods are provided. Hostel is pretty affordable. Hostel needs renovation and maintainance time to time.
Admission
I got 99.06 percentile in jee mains examination. I could have got admission in any NIT but I have strong interest in programming so I chose this college. This college has a good coding culture with hackathons and contests happening regularly. Admission is based on percentile scored in jee mains. You have to clear jee mains exam to get in this college.
Faculty
Faculty to student relationship is pretty professional. Professors are easily approachable at their respective cabins. You can ask doubts in college timings. I liked Prof. Nirupam Ghosh because of his calm and composed method of teaching. There are two exams conducted every semester, mid sem and end sem exams. These exams are approachable by learning something every day. Course curriculum is relevant in modern placement scenario.
