SOA ISN'T AS BAD AS IT SEEMS

The course curriculum is pretty basic to be honest. Often times the course is deducted in order to cover up for the exams. The timing of exams are Always very bad without not prior intimation they send out a notice to have mid sem just after a week. The exams itself are average but we don't get nearly enuf time to study for the exams as the teachers rush to finish the course. I suggest we should atleast be informed about the exams atleast 3 weeks prior to the actual date so that the teachers get enough time to teach and students get enough time to study.

Often companies offer us internships. Companies like TCS, Microsoft,Infosys offer internships. Not always do we get stipend for the work we do but the experience gained during the internships help us a lot in the long run.

The placements are pretty good. On an average we get a placement of 6 lakhs per annum. Companies like TCS, Microsoft, Infosys,Wipro, Deloitte offer placements in our college.the highest package has gone around 80 lakhs per annum in our college. In order to be eligible for placements the students have to maintain above 8.5 cgpa and build extracurricular skills and develop projects to enhance their resume.

The campus life here in SOA is pretty boring tbh. There's barely enuf fields to play in the campus. We conduct cricket tournaments in basketball courts. Often the major events are held at campus 2 due lack of space to host the events in our campus the college doens't even host a fresher's party or a cultural fest.

The hostel facilities in our college are quite average the bathroom are unclean students often break the hostel doors and the doors just stay like that for over a year. The food in the hostel is just outright tasteless often times.

I chose this college because it was the where I was offered a seat in BTech CSE. In other colleges I was offered ECE which I didn't want to study. The admission process of SOA was pretty simple if score a decent percentile in the entrance test SAAT they'll send out the provisional admission letter to us. SOA isn't on par with the best colleges out there but as a private college compared to other colleges like SIT and OUTR our college allows us ample time to work on extracurricular skills.

The faculties of SOA are mostly amicable and are ok to deal with but it's their ability to make us understand the subject is where they start to lack. Througout my time in this college I didn't have to face the blunder of bearing with such teachers but I often hear about these type of faculty from my friends. Honestly speaking there are faculties in SOA who are unbiased will explain to u every doubt from starting to beginning and they'll give u notes for better understanding but there are also such type of faculties in SOA who are biased arrogant and will keep grudges and mark the students based not on their performance but on the teachers mood In total we have 4 exams two midsems and 2 endsems . The exams in questions aren't so difficult but the faculty lets us know about the exams just a week before the actual date. Often times our course isn't completed but regardless the teachers rush through and finish up the course not bothering if the students have understood the chapters or not.

There's not much space to hang out in our campus we just have a gym which is crowded so is very hectic to workout in there. Our cafeteria is pretty good it has many restaurants insides offering delicious snacks and cuisines. Outside the campus is where the real fun begins we have many historical place sto visit like Khandagiri, Udaygiri, Jaydev Vatika,Lingaraj temple there's tons of delicious fast-food stalls and restaurants outside offering genuinely delicious and affordable food.
