Remarks
University is really well and good. One has to be blessed to study at VIT. There are some rules and restrictions for hostellers, otherwise no issues with the environment in VIT. For hostellers outing on weekends is only permitted till 6 pm, this is the main issue my hostel friends face.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum that VIT provides is extraordinary and will equal to IIT standards. The exam is divided into 3 parts. First CAT1(continuous assessment test), where we have to study and write, this is a usual exam. Secondly CAT2, this is where we face difficulty because this test is an open book exam, you can take as many notes as possible to the exam hall and clear the exam. The real difficulty here we face is, no matter how many books you take to the exam you will not be able to find answers. The question paper will be too hard. Both tests are for internal marks. Each test will be of 50 marks and will be converted to 15 marks. Finally here comes the FAT exam (semester exam) where the usual exam pattern follows. This exam is for 100 marks and will be converted to 40 marks. The remaining 30 marks are for 3 digital assignments (3X10=30 marks).
Placement Experience
VIT holds limca book of records for the largest number of placements for the years 2016 & 2017. We have placements at super dream companies like "Google", "Paypal", "Microsoft", etc. Yes obviously they do provide internships, there is a committee called "Renaissance" which is exclusively created for internship purposes. Many companies offer internships dor VIT students. Some offer with a stipend and some don't offer any stipend.
College Events
We have 2 major events in one academic year. The first one is "TechnoVit" which falls on the odd semester during the month of September. This event is full regarding the technical stuff of the engineering students (2days). The second event is "Vibrance" which fall on the even semester during the month of February. This is a 3-day cultural event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Slightly expensive but it is worth the education standard and campus environment of VIT. Minimum fees are 1.75 lakhs (category 1) and vary to 4 lakhs (category 5). Each successive category will be having a difference of Rs50000 to Rs60000. High-rank holders will be getting category 1 seats and as rank decreases the category will increase.
Fees and Financial Aid
A full scholarship will be provided for students who top the VITEE exam, which means a full fee waiver will be given to the student with rank 1. 50 percent of fee waivers will be provided to those students with below 25 ranks.
Campus Life
Here in VIT, we have a lot of extracurricular clubs, small events will we held often. Labs are the highlights of VIT, it is equipped with good and needed instruments and machinery. We have numerous sports equipment and have a huge play area. VIT has 1 football ground, 2 basketball coat, 2 volleyball coat, 1 cricket ground, 5 shuttle coats, etc.
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni network at VIT is really good. They offer scholarships to students of VIT with weak backgrounds. They too provide a lot of internship and job offers to the students. They also give sponsors for "TechnoVit" and "Vibrance" events.
Faculty
Here on campus, all the facilities are doctorate holders. Doctorates from not normal colleges or universities but IITs. Now you could imagine the standard of faculties over here. Faculties are talented with extraordinary knowledge and are skillful.
