Course Curriculum Overview
The first-year curriculum is uniform across all disciplines, with specialization beginning in subsequent years. In the third year, a board of studies, which includes student representatives, convenes to review and modify the curriculum. Student feedback is actively sought and incorporated into the annual curriculum revision process. As a private institution, we enjoy the autonomy to implement curricular changes independently.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the first year, the tuition fee for my branch, Electronics and Computer Engineering, was 400,000 rupees. This amount increases by 8% annually. The fee structure for Computer and IT Engineering is different, with an initial fee of 425,000 rupees in the first year, also subject to an annual increment of 8%. It is worth noting that the college offers financial aid and scholarships to students in need.
Campus Life
There are three major fests held in our college. its the tech fest abhiyantriki in the month october, sports fest skream which is held in january and cultural fest symphony held the month of feb/march. These are all national level fedts. Now, the books facility is very good you can take books for 2 weeks frm the library
Admission
I was also accepted to NMIMS, however, I ultimately chose KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research due to its proximity to my residence and its superior cultural environment. Somaiya has a rich tradition and cultural heritage, which is evident in the various festivals that are celebrated on campus. Additionally, the sprawling green campus enhances the overall experience.
Faculty
The faculty members at our institution possess extensive experience and are highly trained in their respective fields. They have been dedicatedly teaching at Somaiya for over a decade, demonstrating their commitment to our institution. The faculty members are generally approachable and engage in respectful communication with students. However, there are a few senior faculty members who, while being highly knowledgeable and proficient in their subjects, maintain a strict demeanor, which can sometimes make it challenging for students to approach them.
Night Life
Locally it is a good place as the collage is located in vidhvihar. The hostel deadline is 11pm which is fair. The nearby hangout spots are not required since the campus is very big and you can play till night in all the grounds. There are cafes in ghatkoper side gate
