Course Curriculum Overview

4

The aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course were, 1) they teach strong business fundamentals in yr1 and then it slowly gets transitioned into specialised business topics. They give theoretical knowledge as well as practical knowledge. The curriculum prepares us well for the real-world applications as it includes project-based learning in every semester. It also provides us with industry internships and field projects, business simulation, Areas for improvement - it should include topics like blockchain in international trade, ai and automation in international business. And also it should include more case study based learning, then industry expert guest lectures, real time market analysis, student exchange programs etc.

Internships Opportunities

4

mit wpu provides with 4-6 weeks industry exposure from the 5th semester. The companies include big banks like HDFC bank and ICICI bank, they offer trade finance and forex operation internships for 8000-15000 monthly. Then even consulting firms offer internships for business analysis roles for 12000-20000rs monthly. Then even Amazon and Flipkart offer internships for 20000-30000rs monthly. The projects are usually of market research, trade finance, digital marketing, operations optimizations etc. Evaluation is done on the basis of company assessment of project execution with academic requirements including presentations and project reports.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester. But they should not have any backlogs and should maintain a minimum of 60% academic performance and minimum 75% attendance. The common companies visited are - HDFC bank, ICICI bank, Kotak Mahindra bank, Axis bank, Infosys, Wipro, Amazon, Flipkart, Google, Godrej, The highest package overall was 51.36lpa for msc blockchain technology. In my course the highest package was 12-15lpa and average package is 6-7 lpa for new graduates. 85-90% students get placed and rest opt for higher studies. After getting the degree I would pursue MBA in USA or UK.

Fees and Financial Aid

1) Im in year 1 of bba ( international business ). My year-wise fee is 2,99,000rs per year for 3 years. 2) 2,99,000rs per year and 8.97l for 3 yr, includes everything, tuition fees, admission fees etc. the application form fees is 1500rs. 3) my batchmate who is of SC category had to pay the same fees as me. 4) First is Dr Vishwanath Karad Scholarship, it provides a 100% fee waiver for the entire duration of the programme. Second, is MIT-WPU Merit Scholarship 1, provided at the rate of 50% fee waiver in total academic fee for the entire programme duration. Third is MIT-WPU Merit Scholarship 2, which provides a rate of 25% fee waiver in the total academic fee for the entire programme duration. Fourth is Scholarships to Elite sportspersons, awarded to sportspersons based on their winning/participation in nationally and internationally recognised sports/events, this ranges from 20% to 100% based on your level. Fifth is Hon'ble Shri TN Seshan Scholarship, offered to candidates admitted to the school of government who are the wards of in service public servants with a minimum of 5yrs of experience in government service, it amounts to 15% of the programme fees.

Campus Life

5

The overall campus life is really good. You are provided with academic excellence, cultural activities, sports facilities, social networking, relaxed environment etc. There is annual fest, Mit wpu Arohan, which is typically held in the month of march. Then technical festival Technovate typically held in October, The library is also very developed. It is equipped with all the necessary tools and facilities. It has international journals, business magazines, all the course related books, reading halls, newspapers, etc. You can also take books to home for free for 15 days. The classrooms are very modern. They are equipped with smart boards, projectors, comfortable seats, is spacious, and good ventilation. It also has basketball courts, football ground, kabaddi court, swimming pools, wrestling halls, squash court, tennis court, billiards, cricket pitch, then gyms, yoga centres, table tennis, badminton etc. There are also many clubs like dance club, music club, drama club, photography club, literary club, environment club etc. Then we also have student council for event organisation, student welfare, etc. Publication team for college magazines, newsletter, social media posts etc.

Admission

Im in MIT-WPU, I had also applied to Symbiosis International University. I chose mit wpu over symbiosis due to various reasons. First of all it as more affordable as compared to Symbiosis. It also has strong industry connections in pune region. IT also includes foreign language training. The curriculum of mit wpu is better aligned with my career goals as it has direct focus on international business and a specialised curriculum from the first year itself. Mit wpu also has more reasonable fee structure and better scholarship opportunities than symbiosis. Even the facilities are better and campus is bigger of mit wpu than symbiosis. I didn't get a rejection from symbiosis. I rejected symbiosis because I found MIT-WPU to be better. The admission process of symbiosis is as follows - Eligibility - You need to pass 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 50%, any stream is accepted. Be it science, commerce or arts. Exams accepted for my BBA ( international business ) are - MHT CET, Mit wpu's own entrance test ( mit wpu cet ). Students mostly prefer it wpu cet. Admission process - You first need to fill out the online application form. And then you will be given a date for your entrance exam and personal interview. then you will have to pay the admission fees and then the merit list for scholarships would be declared. You can give the exams multiple times. And the syllabus for exams is also very easy and small. The overall admission process is very simple and easy.

Faculty

4

1) The faculty-to-student ratio is 21:1. Faculty members are very helpful and very approachable. Whenever we have any doubt they clear it straight away. They are very friendly. 2) The faculty members that I like are Tejaswini Ma'am, Rehaan Sir, and Mukul sir. I like them because they are very friendly and teach in a way which I understand clearly. And they are very knowledgeable. 3) The faculty members that I don't like are Shikha Ma'am and Samita Ma'am. I don't like them because they are kind of mean and they don't teach. They just read out the slides and then expect us to do self-study. And they scold quite frequently. 4) There are mid-semester exams and end semester exams and also internal assignments, projects and other forms of evaluations. The level of difficulty of exams is moderate, you could score good with just 3-4 days of studies. In exams there are just 4-5 questions but total marks is 30. and there are options in questions, so one question is of 10 marks.

Interview Experience

5

There were different stages for admission. The first one was the computer-based test. The duration was 60 minutes and was of 100 marks, 100 questions. General knowledge was of 25 marks, logical reasoning 20 marks, basic mathematics 20 marks, basic English 25 marks, computer applications 10 marks. To prepare for general knowledge I read newspapers and current affairs magazines. For logical reasoning I used a guide. For basic mathematics I did not really prepare much because I was in science stream in my grade 12, so I already knew decent bit of mathematics. Same with english. I didnt really do much in English because I knew basic grammar. I just read a few comprehension paragraphs. Then I did not face any group discussion, I had a personal interview which is less stressful than group discussions. The interview was taken by some faculty member. It focused on my academic background and interests, then my knowledge about business and mathematics, my goals etc. The tip for personal interview is to be confident, show passion for the course and the college and have clear career goals.

Night Life

5

mit wpu campus provides us with various activities academically and even socially. The academic building stays open from 8am to 6pm. And the library stays open till 8 pm everyday except on holidays and sundays. The gym stays open till 9 pm and the rest sport courts stay open till 7 pm and even the cafeteria till 7pm. In hostels the gates close at 9:30 strictly. After college the students usually hangout in the central garden and cafeteria and other places outside the college. There are many hangout places outside the campus like tea stalls, cafes, food stalls and mc donalds etc. Even the major fun areas like FC road and Deccan are within 15-20mins from the college. Transportation is also very convenient with buses running till 1 pm and autos 24/7. The locality is also very safe to roam around at night because most of the population is of students only. Even the campus is safe as it has guards and CCTV cameras.
