The Life in VIT-AP

The curriculum is well designed. It is not solely based on cse but everything we need in future. In cse classes, they teach python a little deeply which is not needed, they have to teach how much we need to know and if we're interested we should be able to opt to learn more. That's what I think they should do but it's fine for now. Since our batch started late there is only CAT-1, and the syllabus is reasonable but word from our seniors is that the exams are very tough so we have to focus a lot since the exam correction is strict.

Internships are kind of rare in this college as very less people get them. But we get offers of online internships through our mail from companies like Wipro, Microsoft and many major companies. There are emails that scam us with the name of internship but no one falls for them.

The placements are weak in this campus as this is a new campus and from past 3-4 years placements are not good in most of the campuses, the highest package from this campus was around 20LPA, other than that the average package is 6LPA. This campus actually gives us a good opportunity that is if we get a minimum of 9CGPA, they would put us under "Dream Offer" which gives us a minimum of 12LPA placement. If I get placed with dream offer I would accept and work but if I don't, I plan on pursuing masters abroad.

The yearly fees including hostel fees varies for every student. If you get a good rank your fees is less and if u get average rank then fees is more. The lowest fees you can get is around 3lakhs per year(including hostel fees) and highest fees is around 7lakhs per year(including hostel fees). Caste does not matter, all the matters is your rank. If you opt for this through ap-eamcet then your course fees will be around 1lakh only

There are many clubs here which conduct fun events. The social life is great and you can join whatever club your interested in. There and so many books in the library. Almost all the teachers recommend books from this library. The attendance is taken through a fingerprint punch and not manually which is very cool. There is a lot of place for all the sports both indoor and outdoor. The clubs are really helpful in socializing like the Machine Learning Club which teaches you important stuff and also has fun events. Not only that but almost every club is that way.

The hostels are really great. There is no water problem or any other problem. The food is sometimes good or just bad. The hostel registration was simple and quick. Although the cost is a little high, it is reasonable for the facilities provided. One of the only problems faced by students is the network issue as the net is very slow here most of the time.

I have applied for srm University and other eamcet colleges. I have got a confirmed seat in srm University but many people said this VIT is better than srm and eamcet colleges. I have also written jee and bitsat but couldn't get any because my preparation was not sufficient. After reaching this University the admission process was quickly done (around 1-2 hours, i thought it would take more than that). I went in through viteee exam and not eamcet

The faculties are all PhDs and qualified teachers. They are all approachable and good but some of them are strict. If someone doesn't like how any faculty teaches, then they can raise a complaint and supervisors will take notice about the issue. The exams are very hard, majority of the students in a class fail in ece subject (from cse and mtech). There's also english and sts which are actually useful and fun
