Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is more tech-oriented. Thus, if you want to go into the tech domain this may be helpful. The course is old-fashioned and much of the content is irrelevant in the real world. Everyone studies everything from youtube or web sources, but almost no one studies in classrooms. The frequency of exams is pretty normal but for the same, you have to maintain attendance that will make you attend every single class even if it's unnecessary. Faculties are helpful if someone is interested in their subjects and help them with research in the same domain too. But faculties are not good as IIT, so its better to do research under IIT professors.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are not many internship opportunities during the third year. Most of the students get off-campus internships. However, our college provides on-campus research interns. For research interns, you have to discuss the project with the respective professor. Mostly, internships are unpaid for a fresher but if you are doing in a good company then you can expect a decent amount of pay around 10-20k.

Placement Experience

2

From the seventh semester, students are eligible to sit in the placement drive. There are plenty of good companies that every student dreams of visiting our college. Almost the same companies visit NSUT, which goes to DTU or IIIT or IITs(Packages could be lower than IITs). Students can apply for any sort of company whether its a tech domain or nontech or core domain. The no. of core companies is quite less than dtu and IITs but the no. of tech companies is higher than dtu. The placement percentage has significantly reduced to 42% in past years. The average package is around 10 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees throughout the course increase by some amount yearly. For the batch of 2025, the fee structure for the first year was around Rs.1,00,000 ( 80,000 as JAC Delhi fee + 20,000 as College tuition fee). For the second year, it was around Rs.1,75,000 as a college tuition fee. For the third year, it was Rs. 2,15,000; for the final year, it was around Rs. 2,75,000. NOTE: Students admitted in their first year in year 2024 have paid Rs2,75,000 for their tuition fee. So, it will gradually increase for them in the upcoming consecutive years. The hostel fee for one semester is Rs.56,000 (including mess). Course re-registration fee for one subject ranges from Rs. 7,000-15,000 ( Depending on the semester you are enrolling in) Also, there are lots of fines for late fee payment, late registration, cheating in exams, etc The fee structure for all categories is the same except those from the EWS category. They can apply for a scholarship based on their income slabs. There is one more scholarship drive for scholarship which is only merit-based. Most of people who don't get scholarships pay their fees through student loans.

Campus Life

4

The name of our cultural fest is Moksha and Tech Fest is Rezonance. NSUT fests are known as one of the best fests in Delhi. Moksha comes around March whereas rezo comes around October. The facilities and resources are decent but the number of students is quite large so its hard to enjoy them fully. The campus offers many clubs/societies regarding sports, drama, singing, music, literature, entrepreneurship, finance, robotics, coding, etc. Most of them are very active and senior-junior interaction is friendly. These clubs are the best way to grow and experience a glimpse of the real world .

Admission

I applied for IITs but couldn't get in as I was not getting desired courses and IITs due to low marks in JEE. So, applied to colleges in Delhi. I got a seat in DTU and IIITD but they were too far from my home, so I chose NSUT over this because it was convenient to travel. Admission to my college is through JAC Delhi which considers JEE mains rank and allot you the college and respective branch according to the rank.

Faculty

3

faculty:student ratio is pretty high than it was few years ago. It is hard to interact with the professors during lectures due to the high student count. If someone wants to discuss something with the professor they can go to their offices and meet whenever the professor is free. Many of the professors have done their Phds from top IITs and have a good hand in their subjects. Some of them are really good at communicating the content and pretty good at teaching while the rest of them are teaching for the sake of it. Every professor is very strict about attendance. Thus, failing to achieve 75% attendance will cause you to not be able to sit for the exams. Eventually, you will score less and you might fail that subject because of that. In each semester, there are mid-sem and end-sem exams. In between there are two class tests, one or two projects depending upon the faculty, and internal and external practical exams. The course is more tech-oriented and the rest of the content is almost the same as DTU and IITs

Interview Experience

5

no there is no GD and interview. The only mode of admission is one's JEE mains All India Rank. After JEE advance result one has to apply for JAC Counseling. There will be no. of rounds and you will be allotted a seat in a college that matches your subject preference and jee mains rank

Night Life

4

There is almost no nightlife in colleges because of the curfew timings are around 9 pm or so. There are snakes, lizards, and peacocks all over the campus. Gym is open for all for free and it's a decent one. Gym opens early in the morning and closes by 8pm or so with a lunch break from 1-2pm. Library opens at 10 am and closes at 5 pm.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi Technological University - [DTU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electrical Engineering)

It was too far from my home.

Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Computer Science)

It only offers basic general degrees and I eventually got admission in professional degree at NSUT. Also, there's almost no placements in the college.

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology - [IIITD] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)

This college was comparatively new from NSUT and DTU. The college life there is almost like a school that focuses merely on academics rather than overall personality growth.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
