A Decent Choice for Career

My course curriculum has some important courses like Data Structures, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems and Object Oriented Programming which will be very in cracking interviews during our placement time. These courses made me to choose IT course. These important courses will be helpful in the applications of corporate world and to pursue higher studies too. I personally suggest to remove the non-core subjects like Chemistry and Physics and replace it with some basics of IT which will be helpful for students to focus on placements too. Teaching methods definitely needs an improvement as some of the faculties just give the ppts day before exam to score marks. There will be 3 continuous assessment tests, and each CA will have a gap of 1 month. The exam duration of CA exam is 1 hour 30 minutes. The exam duration of semester exam is 3 hours. CA exams have easy level of difficulty and semester exams have level of difficulty between easy to medium.

Companies like DE Shaw, Morgan Stanley, Arcesium, Arista Networks, SAP Labs, Amazon, etc.. came for internship at our college. Most of the companies offered roles like Associate Developer, Software Developer, Juniour Developer for both summer and spring internship opportunities. Some Companies provided stipend of around 1 lakh rupees per month for internship where as some companies provided stipend of around 35,000 rupees per month. I have worked on frontend development during my summer internship with an MNC. Internships helps students to experience the corporate work life, gain knowledge and build networks.

Students are eligible for summer internships starting from 5th semester. And from 7th semester, students are eligible for Full Time Employment oppurtunities. Companies visited: Google - 30+ LPA Amazon - 20+ LPA Morgan Stanley - 20+ LPA SAP - 20+ LPA Nutanix - 50+ LPA DE Shaw - 60+ LPA Visa - 20+ LPA In 2024, Nutanix and DE Shaw offered has highest packages for Software developer role, and average package per company will be around 20+ LPA for those companies. Till October 2024, 50% of my classmates got placed. I got placed in MNC so after my degree I will pursue my employment career in that MNC.

The total fees per year for B.Tech Information Technology is approximately around 90,000 rupees. Tution fees will be the highest among all the categories. And other fees categories like caution, registration, admission, development and lab have almost equal distribution in the remaining amout from the tution fees. B.tech IT degree has approximation management donation of 20 lakhs in 2024. Some of my batchmates is from the TN Government 7.5 category who has almost 10 times less than my college fees. Our college provides different scholarship schemes and I am not aware of scholarships but some of my batch mates has applied for scholarships and reduced good percentage of their tution fees.

Events like Intrams, Login, Shristi are the major cultural and technical events I have known in my college life. Each cultural and technical events will happen at different months so that students will be engaged with social aspects. Over 3000+ books and journals were accessible in my college's library. Classrooms have the projectors such that students will engaged with vitrual learning along with traditional methods like blackboards. Zonal events and inter college sports competition will happen in our college. Our college has multiple clubs like Students Union, Animal Welfare Club and etc.. which impact on student life to improve qualities like team management, leadership etc..

Our college provides different classes of rooms at hostel based on our comfort and convinience. There will be 2 seater, 3 seater and 4 seater with and without attched bathroom. Overall meal quality is good when compared to other college hostels. Registration process is simple which is similar to college admission and students can choose their desired class of room at hostel and it has reasonable rent. I chose 4 seater with attached bathroom which has rent of around 1,15,000 per year. Our college is quite affordable in my opinion.

I chose this college over the other colleges due to its popularity and placement percentage. I was lucky because I have joined this college via Tamilnadu Engineering counselling. Compared to other colleges I had applied, PSG CT has good infrasturcture, good reviews, popularity and placement percentage which made me to choose this college. And also I have mentioned PSG CT as my first choice in TNEA counseling. Admission process is simple but we need some patience as large number of students will appear on admission day at once. I have applied to other colleges like MIT, Anna University and PSG ITech etc.. but for my convinence, I chose PSG CT.

Approaching faculties are so simple in my department but we need some patience when approaching the senior faculties like Co-ordinator and HOD. For a regular class, 1 faculty handles almost 70 students. For a Laboratory session, 1 main faculty and 2 assistants handles those 70 students. So overall faculty to student ratio is 1:70. Ms. Dharani mam is one of my favorite faculties as she supported the students very well in every situation and she is our class tutor too. I personally don't hate or dislike any faculties in my department. Difficulty of exams are from easy to moderate. Always the exam failure percentage is less than 10%. Exams are almost 90% relevant to course curriculum.

Our college provides cafeteria for students and faculties and our college provides gym facilities near our hostel. Campus timings will be from 8.30 A.M to 5.10 P.M (at extreme) and have a lunch break from 12.10 PM to 1.40 PM. Campus timing will is not fixed for everyday. It is based on the courses we enrolled. Each class period has duration of 50 minutes. Boys Hostel in timing will be 9.30 P.M and Girls Hostel in timing will be 6.00 P.M. We have more hangout places like restaurants, malls and theatres nearby college. Since our college is located at one of the main spots in coimbatore so its safe to roam around at night in my opinion.
