Course Curriculum Overview

2

I wanted to take up core CSE and was intrested in computers so i decided to go with this cirriculum. The college curriculum does not prepare us from any real world application or future academic pursuits. The college cirriculam is just to pass/ace college exams. For future academic pursuits you need to study and reasearch yourself. The complete course curriculam needs devoplment. Instead of just focusing on bookish knowledge one should focus more on real world and industry oriented applications so that the bridge between college and industy is minimized. The teaching methords too need an improvment. Most of the faculties dont care come late to class lack proper in depth knowledge about a subject could not answer our doubts. Timings and frequency of exams are good. Withing 2 months of semester starting Mid term is held. During the 6th month of the semeter practical exams and end semeter takes place (semeter is of 6 months). Difficulty level of the exam is easy-moderate. Few faculties set their paper in moderate-difficult level.

Placement Experience

2

Students become eligible for placements from 7th semeter. Companies visited till now are : tejes - 9lpa, keysite - 7lpa, streebo - 5lpa and a few other product based companies with average pakage offered about 3lpa. Higest pakage - salesforce (32 lpa) off campus, keysite (7lpa) on campus. Last year 60% of total students from final year got placed. My plans is to purusue a higher degree as placement scene of your college is not that great and also i have intrest in ai/ml so i want to study future and dive more deep into its concepts

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees i paid for my course is (81000 per semeter) which is approx 162000 per year. Also the fees for the students who will be taken intake this year have to pay (91000 per semeter) which is approx 182000 per year for 4 years. Tuition fees is 61000, caution fees is 10000, examination fees is 2000 and rest all fees comes under 1 category which is 8000. This fees is compulsory for all without any exception. If your family income is less than 300000/year then you will be eligible for scholarship otherwise no one is exempted from paying the fees. Those whos family income is less than 300000/year they have to pay a fees of 30000 per semeter which is 60000 per year for 4 years. Swami vivekanand scholarship is given to the ones whose family income is less and also if their cgpa is good. Amout is 1000 a month.

Campus Life

3

Sarvottsava is our anual festival which is held in months of dec-jan. There are many hacathons that are held in college with no fixed months. Books and journals are provided from the libary but only those books are provided which are in course cirriculum. Faculties and technological provisions are good with proper labs and well organised classes. Sports and extracirricular acitivies and not that great in our college. Its there but only for those who are intrested and majyority of them are not intrested. Many clubs run in our college which includes for dance, drama, singing and they have a great impact on students life.

Admission

I applied to Techno Internation New Town and got a confirmed admission in IT branch. As i was not intrested in pursuing that branch so i took up this college to pursue core CSE. During counselling for WBJEE i got rejected from many colleges becaus my rank was not that great. Our college accepts jee mains, west bengal joint scores, the cutoff for jee mains is under 30000 rank and wbjee is under 8000 rank.

Faculty

2

The faculty to student ratio is 1:80 which is feel is ok. The faculties are even approacable but they themselves know nothing. They lack experience, knowledge, skills. There are a few faculties whom i liked firstly kalyan kumar das. He taught us Programming and Data Structures and i could say he is one of the experience faculty among other. Also i liked jayanta chokrobory sir who taught us software engineering and he is also very experienced. If i start naming faculties i did not most of the faculties will be in the list still to name a few Mainak sen, Asif and many more. All these faculties are inexperienced and lack proper knowledge about what to teach and how to teach. 3 Exams take place per semeter. 1 Mid term 1 practical exam 1 end semeter. The students who fail to clear the exam are allowed to give the supplimentary exam again. The questions asked in exams are from the course cirriculum only but these things are not taught by faculty.

Interview Experience

1

No, no such things were required for the admission. Only wbjee rank or jee rank was required to take admission. The college also provides management quota for students who have not appeared in any exam. Such students need to pay 300000 rupees for just the admission.

Night Life

3

No gym, 1 cafeteria where the food is pricy, library opens only to distribute books and has no seating and studing area. No hostels on campus. You need to take a Paying Guest or a Flat to stay near college if your house is far. Hangout places are many outside college - eco park, nicco park, science city and many more. Loaclity is also safe and students normally roam around at night.

Other Applied Colleges

Techno International New Town - [TINT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Internet of Things)

I was offered IT role instead of core CSE and as i wanted to pursue CSE I chose a different college

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
