Course Curriculum Overview

On this i cannot say much but whatever done until now is perfect. The way they have taught us and the way they have structured the course, even a person with no experience or knowledge will be quite smooth with it. Tbh idk much about how any of this will affect us in the real world other than in corporate environment. The knowledge given to us is very specific and idts it will be useful in day to day life. The timing of the exam cannot be argued upon. It varies but is apt related to the course. Keeps us on our feet having to study all semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 5,25,000 for my first year. It included everything and there is notuing extra that you have to pay. You have to puchase or print the pdf of lab journals and extra books that you need. College provides nothing of those. There were none scholarships that i enquired about for this college. I dont know of any scholarships that the college provides for btech, mba tech and mtech students. There are a few scholarships for research for phd students in the college. You can avail general scholarships government pr ngos.

Campus Life

4

There is no official freshers organised by the college. All the seniors try to arrange events in clubs in the name of freshers to earn but there are too many of them and its very disorganized. There is no real way to socialize with others in the start of the college. Nmims has various fests like vaayu, umaang, kshitij, etc but mpstme is bound to only sattva as the flagship cultural fest and tachniq as the flagship technical fest. Other than that, individual Committees in college from both student chapter and student council arranges their own events like MUN, cult night, traditional day, etc. Most of these events are big but not well managed and usually doesnt end well. Other than these 2 fests, we can enjoy the other fests under svkms management. The college is very close to juhu, bandra, andheri with amazing cafe culture, beaches and clubs. The life after college in nmims is where ppl actually tend to enjoy. The sports wing is 0. There is no exposure to any student related to sports. The college doesnt even have a dedicated ground. I have personally played for maharastras football team as a reserve but after joining college there were 0 opportunities and even when i had to go for a camp for state football team, the collefe was against it. The college doesnt even support music and drama or any other activities. Even the ppl representing college in hackathons or other course related competitions doesnt get their attendance marked even tho they are missing for college. And when they bring jome trophies the college proudly claims these.

Admission

There werent many colleges that offered mba tech program. I only wanted this college because of the reputation it has for management courses and how it saves me 1 yr. The packages offered jn the end are also amazing

Faculty

2

I do not know much about faculty to student ratio but each subject has 1-2 teachers. 1 for theory and 2nd one for practical or lab of that subject. Mr Prasad for PPS lab were the most helpful sir i ever met. He treated each kid individually helping them in the way they wanted. Mrs. Khusboo for PPS theory was the worst. She keeps screaming for no apparent reason and isnt open to dumb questions and is very reserved. She isnt strict but she doesnt know how to teach. The teachers might appear open during lectures but after it they dont entertain students much. And if your perticular subject teacher isnt present or left the college, there are no other teachers you can go to for asking doubts. The course coordinator is also not very helpful. She doesnt know the tonetavkes of teachers or when they are free or how to approach them. Same is the case with cr. There is no link between student and teachers directly connecting them other than microsoft teams on which it takes ages to get replies. There are 2 mid terms 10 marks each for 1 hr each paper. The paper is taken by the respective subject teachers in their lectures. These marks are then added in Internals. The final exam is of 100 marks for 3 hrs. In the end 50-50 is the weightage of both term end exams and internals while calculating gpa.

Night Life

5

I have been born and brought up in mumbai so i dont have the same craze for nightlife as others but considering that you have hostel in juhu in mumbai its ofc gonna be good. The nightlife in whole mumbai is perfect. It be clubbing or walks on the beach or late night street food, mumbai serves everything legally or illegally. I have never seen the official nmims hostel but pgs around the colleges have amazing facilities. Most of them have cerfew around 12 so its pretty lenient too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.

All faculty members are well-qualified and experienced. The course is very vast but the teaching faculty cover it through their extra lectures and practicals.
