Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose chemical Engineering as there are many chemical plants in Navi mumbai and Uran region, so the market demand is good unlike computer engineers. As I am a first year student, i'm unaware of the exam paterns from second year, so unfortunately cannot provide information regarding that.

Internships Opportunities

4

Multiple companies offer internships in during course period. Companies such as Corizo, ISP, CPP Wipro has provided internship opportunities along with training. But it is mostly for CS and IT branches.

Placement Experience

3

Companies visit for placement every year. The provided packages are ranging from 2.5-20LPA, which is good compared to other colleges. There are many companies which recruit from MGM college, all the names and list of companies are provided by the college on the Entrance gate. % of students getting placement is less but its obvious considering how the students dont develop their skills. My plan is to have the degree as Backup and pursue my plans which I'm working on right now along with college

Fees and Financial Aid

The first year fees for any Engineering branch in MGM CET is 97,500 for General category without EWS certificate. If the applicant has EWS certificate, they will have to pay around 50-55k yearly. If the applicant is a female with EWS certificate, she will not have to pay any tuition fees but only the extra charges which the college takes which is around 10k. Females with EWS as well as Category certificate will have to pay only 4-5k rupees yearly. Talking about the extra expenses that every student will have to pay, Students have to purchase the lab manuals and files, Workshop coat all by themselves, which all together cost around 900-1k. Apart from that there is no extra money asked from the college for anything. Talking about the scholarships, the eligibility is expense under 8Lac rupees. The college will give the website link. Scholarship doesn't reduce any fees, only that the students which have paid discounted fees, their remaining fees will be paid by the government, i.e 97500-Scolarship= The amount students have paid during admission.

Campus Life

4

One annual function is conducted in the college named Mangalam. Its a big event for the college. Library service is really good, enough books are available in the library. There is no technology in regular classes, but the computer labs have good PCs and have good airconditioning to keep the PCs cool. Clubs are run by the seniors and its really good to have them.

Admission

Compared to the other colleges, MGM CET is well maintained and has premises spreaded over a good amount of land area. Campus is cleaned everyday througout the day. Cleaning vehicles are provided to the cleaning staff, reducing the physical labour on them, which is a really good initiative. I didnt get rejection from other colleges, i chose MGM due to the travelling comfort i get as the college is near my house compared to other colleges. Admission process takes only 2-3hours, All the documents are collected in the center, fees payment is conducted and then ID card generation process starts. The students get their IDs on the admission time itself, so there is no complications during admission.

Faculty

4

Almost each class has different faculties for every subject. Behaviour of all faculties is really good. No one insults the students. About the exams, college conducts 2 Unit Tests which are based on the assignments given in every subject. UT is for 20marks and the difficulty is medium. Semester is conducted as per Mumbai University guidelines, so semester exam has nothing to do with college management.

Night Life

1

No, there is no nightlife in the campus. Hostel for boys is provided 10mins away from the college. Only girls hostel is provided Inside the campus. The boys have no access to the college at night so basically there isn't any nightlife in MGM.

Other Applied Colleges

Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering - [BVCOE] Navi Mumbai | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Chemical Engineering)

Admission staff behaves very rude with the parents. Gave half information of admission and were asking for money, instead of explaining the actual process of CAP rounds

Datta Meghe College of Engineering Airoli | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Chemical Engineering)

College campus is situated in a single building, whereas other colleges have acres of land in which the premises are constructed

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.

All faculty members are well-qualified and experienced. The course is very vast but the teaching faculty cover it through their extra lectures and practicals.
