Course Curriculum Overview

4

We get to learn physics and chemistry in the first semester which is irrelevant to industrial standards, but gets good from the second semester. We get to learn the core of our course from the second semester and it is on par with industrial standards. We get to have industrial visit and guest lectures. They could have students work on research paper from the second semester and get more in depth subject knowledge. We should get 158 credits in total to get the degree. We also get to choose our own time table. Per semester we get to choose our own courses with including the core ones. We also are provided with vivid number of courses from which we can choose from to enhance our skills.

Internships Opportunities

1

Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon visit our campus for internship. Students also have to opportunity to do research internship and enhance their knowledge. They can get stipend from 15000 to 50000 based on the role while some are doing unpaid internship. The third years are generally the ones who for internship and while some get internship some get to do some project under and mentor to enhance their resume. They do projects which included Ai/ml technologies and some other on demand technology.

Placement Experience

4

It has good placement opportunities and provides students with good assistance. Companies like google, Amazon , meta, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan etc Visit the campus for recruitment. The highest package offered 1 crore per annum and the average is nearly 10 lpa. Almost 90 percent of the students get placed with good packages.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm paying 296000 per year since I'm in second category each for the upcoming four years. Hostel fee is 124000. Caution fee is 6000. The fee for first category 198000 , the fee for third category 394000 , fee for fourth category 445000. 500000 for fifth category

Campus Life

4

The overall experience is good. We get more exposure and the amount of people from different parts of the countries help us to experience different cultures. We have one big cultural fest called vibrance which is typically held in March and technical fest called techno VIT which is held in September. Though we don't get experience the outside world , we have enough facilities inside the college. I have been currently enrolled debate club as a marketing member and they provide me good opportunities to meet lot of people. We also have 133 clubs to promoting almost anything including anime, technical research, culture.

Hostel Facilities

4

We have ac/ non AC rooms. The first years are mostly in AC rooms. There are 2 sharing, 4 sharing, 6 sharing. We have total of 17 floors in our hostel block. There are two caterings here and they provide veg,non veg, special. The registration for hostel and mess is done through online and it is quite affordable considering the housing costs in chennai. The rooms are quite spacious. Through there might be power cuts occasionally the faculties are up to the mark.

Admission

I applied to many colleges and wrote jee mains. I scored 96 percentile in jee scores and got admission in amirtha, SRM and shiv nadar University. I chose vit among them because it provides students with the freedom to choose their own subjects and get mastery in that. It also provides good placement and curriculum to students. Vit also helps students with master studies through it's tie up universities. The reason I couldn't make in to NIT OR IIT is because of my low percentile or due to not getting the desired course. For admission in vit , we have to clear viteee and get sufficient rank. We are assigned our courses on different categories on the basis of the rank

Faculty

3

Everyone holds PhD and the research scholars are supposed to have master. Every faculty has their lab and conducts research. The course structure is in par with industrial recruitment but one has to study physics, chemistry in the first semester which is irrelevant but gets better from.the second semester. We have cat 1 and cat 2 which holds 15 percent weightage and fat exam which holds 40 percent weightage and digital assignment which has 30 percent weightage.

Night Life

5

We have lot of hangout spots in our campus , we have a lake at the entrance of the campus, we have a lot of food stalls, a clock court , amphitheatres and sports facilities. Our late night activities include meeting friends, celebrating birthdays, visiting library. After a hectic day of assignment and classes the night life helps us to refresh ourselves by meeting our friends and connecting with other peers. We have gym per each hostel block which closest at 8 pm . The college in time is 9 pm , the hostel intime is also 9 pm. The most famous hangout spots is gazebo, which is a food stall with wide variety of food. It is pretty safe around the campus locality.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.
