SNU Kolkata review from a SNU student.

B.Tech in Computer Science course followed in SNU is upto date with the industry standards. I am specialising in AiML and the faculty members are all confident with the subject. The exams are quite difficult and focus on testing the basic foundation of the students.

The college offers many internship opportunities for its students in all different technical fields. There are a mix of MnCs and startups that come SNU for recruitment. The roles offered are generally Associate Software Developer, Junior Data Analyst etc.

The students become eligible to placements from 7th semester. SNU Kolkata assures placement guidance to its students. The top recruiters are MNCs like TCS, Wipro, Accenture etc. The average package is around 5lpa and last year's highest package offered was 27lpa.

I took admission in 2021 batch for B.Tech CSE AIML batch. My course fees is around Rs. 454000 with admission fees and caution money adding upto around Rs. 40000. My semester fees is Rs. 56750 per semester, which has been now increased Rs. 70000 per semester for the 2024 Btech batch. There is no further examination fees, but backlog fees apply.

There are plentiful festivals and programs hosted in the college by different student departments. There are cultural programs and annual fests. Also SNU hosts many Hackathons and student quiz programs to enhance technical knowledge of its students.

The hostel is quite decent. The food is average with different food options for both vegetarians and non vegetarians all around the week. Registration process for the hostel is quite easy and is handled by the administration department itself.The hostels are located in New Town locality.

SNU Kolkata is a reputed BTech college in Kolkata with 100% placement assurance. The location was optimal for my ease of transportation, which was the only reason I dropped my plans of going to LPU The admission process is quick and simple with admission assistance provided in the campus.

The faculty at Sister Nivedita University is excellent. The faculty to student ratio is 60:1. The faculty members and professors are of friendly and cooperative nature. There is one mid term examination and one final semester theory examination along with respective practicals.

The college has a cafe name Melbourne cafe inside its campus which is open until evening. The university is situated in the prime area with all required facilities near. The campus has a gym and yoga room too which are accessible to the students.
