
Course Curriculum Overview
As it is a technical institute so the curriculum must be updated according to modern technological advancement which is not done frequently. The exam structure contains a mid-semester exam and an end semester exam along with a continuous evaluation through tests and quizzes throughout the semester. Practical exam and Viva is conducted once in a semester a week before the end semester exam. Overall the curriculum helps you in improving your personality and also to make you a better professional.
Placement Experience
Placement wise, the college has companies like Amazon and D shaw coming for placements every year so the average package is good considering the BTech division. Other companies for core sector are also regular in hiring from the campus and offer good packages to the students. The college provides internships to students in summers under professors which is on a selection basis.
College Events
There are technical events happening in the college throughout the year. There are several prominent clubs like ACM, Drishti(robotics club) and many other which are helpful to students in technical exposure. Cultural events also go along with technical events for the most part of the year. This comes under CHRD which is a committee of groups like music club, dance club, theatre club, etc. College fest is celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students once a year mostly in the month of February and it is considered to be the biggest college fest in Surat and nearby cities.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible which is approximately 10 lakh four BTech course of four years. Tuition fee full waiver is given to SC/ST student so they just have to pay ten thousand only for four years. The hostel fee is applicable to all who wants to take hostel accommodation and it is 45000 per year (mess fee included).
Fees and Financial Aid
Very few scholarships are provided in the college. There is a scholarship for SC/ST students and one scholarship for branch toppers in BTech. Here the college has a setback and college can do something on this aspect to make the students' life easy.
Campus Life
There are a lot of extracurricular activities in the college which make campus life a memorable life experience. Latest Labs with new equipment are a boon for students of all departments. The sports ground is also very good and large where different sports like kabaddi, kho-kho, football, cricket and many more are played. There is a Gym near the sports ground which is considered one of the best gym among all the NITs. Two basketball courts, one tennis court, one badminton court are also situated on the campus and are well maintained. Also, each hostel has volleyball nets for students to play. Overall the life as a student in the college campus is the best feeling.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are very helpful in all aspects whether it is academic-related help or any social help. Alumni network is not so strong. Only a few alumni are coming regularly to alumni meets which is needed to be improved.
Admission
Since the college is an NIT (national institute of technology) so there is an entrance exam named JEE Mains which is held every year in starting the week of April which is needed to be cleared to be eligible for taking admissions in NIT’s. After getting selected in JEE Mains you become eligible to go through CSAB’s (Central Seat Allocation Board) seat allocation program in which you have all the list of IIT’s, NIT’s, IIIT’s and other a few other governments funded colleges, this allocation takes place around the first week of June. Here you have to fill the college and branch preferences according to your rank and interest. You are allotted college and branch according to your preference order and your rank at the end of the allocation. College starts near the end of July month.
