Likes
- AC Classrooms and labs , along with hostels, which is rare for du. NIRF ranking is also very good at 26.
- The hostel facility itself, the infrastructure of the hostel and college building is AMAZING as it had been recently constructed in 2016.
- Canteen is nice and affordable, along with nice dishes ranging from south indian to chinese to indian food, along with packaged items like chips, juices etc.
Dislikes
- It comes under off campus of du , which hampers its image.
- The ground is small , which limits outdoor sports facilities like football , cricket , volleyball etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
I believe i chose bcom hons as it goes well with professional courses like ca, which i am pursuing, and has decent scope. The course does have some practical aspects which do help in real life situations, however i think the syllabus needs to be updated as it consists of content which is either irrelevant or already been studied before. I am yet to give my first end sems , but looking at pyq, they do appear to be on the difficult side.
Fees and Financial Aid
For the first year , i have paid exactly Rs. 31,555. This is without any scholarship or any category (like ews). There is a reduced fee for students belonging to ews category, which gives them approximately a lift off of around 60%. There is also reduced fees for some other categories, which i am not sure about. I feel like compared to other colleges in du , the fee is on the higher side. However, compared to private and semi private colleges it is still very less and affordable.
Campus Life
The latest festival/function was RAAS 2.0 in october for dandiya nights. The library is AMAZING i go to study to my library very often as it has ac, is spacious, quiet , and has peace and nice views. Availibility of goods is nice, my friends have issued a lot of books from the library. Classrooms are equipped with good ventilation , and tables, ac's and 2 whiteboards, same goes for lecture halls. Campus life is good and the clubs are fairly active and organise various workshops.
Admission
My main aim was for north campus colleges, however my cuet score was 722/800 which made me ineligible to take admission in north campus colleges for the course of bcom hons atleast. However i did have the option to opt for Atma Ram Sanatan dharma college, but due to dduc being 1.5km away from house i thought arsd wasnt worth it , as saving travel time willl help me invest it into studying for ca, also due to ragging and gooning image of arsd. i chose dduc over other south campus colleges as the infrastructure is way better than them.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio for bcom hons is not bad but not very good either , however for other courses it is better... The faculty is really nice , and not ignorant and pretty approachable without any second thoughts , offline as well as on whatsapp and mail. However sometimes classes are cancelled by teacher on very late notices... however ive noticed this issue persists with younger faculty members. There are mid semester exams , and end semester exams and they are on the difficult side. Course curriculum is pretty relevant.
Night Life
The college is situated in dwarka which is very nice , open neat and less crowded. Nearest malls are Vegas mall, and radisson, metro connectivity is nice. For food dwarka mor is very close , and also markets in sector 6/10 and 4/5/12.
