Likes
- I like the fact that there are many people who weren't able to get into iits or nits due to the reservation there and have come here and study very well.
- The course structure is also good as it helps you gain a lot of knowledge that will be useful in the future.
- Extra-curricular activities are also encouraged here as there are a lot of clubs to join in this university. Also diverse group of people.
Dislikes
- Fees structure. Feels like some people pay too much per year and in the end it isn't worth it at all.
- The number of people studying here is way too much and needs to be reduced by a LOT.
- Teachers are very strict and give a lot of assignments and work and in the end don't even give full marks.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course provides a lot of subjects and each has its own number of credits depending on the number of classes per week. Although the subjects in first year apart from cs are not relevant the course outcome is pretty much fine. Difficulty level is very high since it's computer science engineering.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of companies that provide internships for very few students of this university like TCS, Microsoft, HCl, Google etc etc but you need to have a lot of skills that seasoned veterans of the field have to get internship of good value in any of these companies.
Placement Experience
From 3rd year students become eligible for internships and from 4th year students are eligible for jobs. But you get a decent offer only if you have a lot of skills and have atleast 9 cgpa. Percentage of students getting placements is very low since most of them like me decide to do higher studies abroad.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees I'm paying right now is 3,08,000 rs per annum to be precise. There is no scholarship available in this college and is purely based on rank. No reservations available as well. I am in category 2 fees and it goes up to category 5 which is 5L per annum. First category is 2L per annum. Hostel fees depends on the number of people in the room and varies from 2 to 6 people per room. Fees ranges from 1.5L to 3L per annum including food (veg and non veg have different prices). I feel like the fees has been constant for a while now but might increase in the coming years.
Campus Life
This university provides a lot of extra curricular activities, like clubs conduct so many activities all the time and is very interesting although they do make a lot of money through this. The cultural fest happens for 3 days where they invite big time singers and performers to perform here. Sports activities aren't there much but you can always play with your friends.
Admission
I got admission only in this college since after not clearing jee mains I wrote this first and got the results. After this I wrote only bitsat which I couldn't get the cutoff marks in. So I decided this was the best option after what I had so I decided not to apply for any other colleges. There was an entrance exam for this and I secured 11k rank which helped reduce the fees as well. Exam was MCQ without negative marking.
Faculty
Faculty members are not all the same. Some faculties have zero knowledge in the subject and don't know how to teach and are very strict with the markings where as there are a lot of knowledgeable teachers as well.
Night Life
Although I'm not a hostellers and haven't been around the campus at night much, I've heard a lot of things from my friends. First off the curfew time is 9pm which I feel like is too early for everyone since no one is going to sleep at that time anyways. And also there isn't much you can do after 8pm in the campus since they don't allow you to play. So there isn't much you can do after it gets apart from go for walks with your friends.
