The CSE department have the highest placement percentage. We are taught computer science core topics like data Structures and algorithms, object oriented programming, Computer networks, etc. These topics are asked a lot in techincal interviews. Topics like security and architecture are bit outdated but still very relevant. There are 2 exams per Semester : one mid semester of 30marks, one end Semester of 50 marks and rest 20 marks are continuous evaluation. Exams are bit difficult of what is taught in class.

Our college opens application for internship everywhere. You can choose some faculty whose project you like and you would like to work under. You get a letter of recommendation after doing internship under some faculty. Also many companies visit for internship, details are as follows : Google : 1lac 23k per month Microsoft: 1lac 25k per month Expedia : 40k per month Optum : 40k per month Accenture : 50k per month Zscaler : 75k per month

College placements are pretty good. Overall average of CSE department is 14LPA with 95 percent placed. Overall placement average of all branches is 6LPA witb 87 percent placed. Many students also go for higher studies. Companies come for internship from 5th sem and for FTE / 6month intern from 7th sem. I am currently selected for internship in expedia for summer 2025.

Campus life is good except the fact that college is very far away from the city. There is one cultural "Utkansh" and one techincal "Techniti" fest every year. There are clubs for literally everything. Last year a club was opened specially focussing on Esports. Clubs are pretty good to join as it also presents an opportunity to interact with seniors. All the clubs are run by students and coordinated with college by a faculty coordinator. There is a library and one seperate reading room that can accomodate around 200 students at a time. Almost teams are there for all sports : basketball, football, volleyball.

There are total 10 boys hostel : 1 to 7 Small boys hsotel and 3 big boys hostel (Mega boys hostel). There are 3 girls hostel : 1 to 2 small girls hostel and 1 mega girls hostel. All the hostels have wifi provides by the college for free. All the hostels have seperate mess, and mess food is pretty good. Girls hostel mess are better. Each hostel have a reading room and sports room. You can avail hostel facility only if you are not of jalandhar.

This NIT had a much better ranking than other IITs and NITs that I could get with my rank of CRL 11,109. Qualify JEE mains with a good rank, apply through the JOSSA portal. Submit your college preference list along with the course. Only acceptable exam score for now is JEE mains for BTech program.

The faculty to student ratio is around 60 - 70. The faculty provides notes and ppts of all the topics beign taught. The faculty is very approachable after class hours and can schedule a meeting with them on College portal. The exams set by faculty is usally hard but is compensated by relative marking. The syllabjs is a bit outdates but still relevant.

The boys and girls in time is 10 PM from second year, so you can roam around college at night. There are good places to eat like dominos and nescafe. Also there are alternative cheap options also present. The gym remains open till 9PM everyday except holidays. The life inside college is very safe as there are security guards almost everywhere present in college. All the areas except faculty living area are accessible by the students.
