CALCUTTA UNIVERSITY - OUR SECOND HOME

The most striking feature of this course is - It gives us Industry ready professional curriculum to be competent as SDE engineer. The professors with their colossal years of experience teaches us through laboratory classes many computer related things like Internet of things,Dbms,web development etc. They teaches us through dictation method of pedagogy.Which is quite good,They should increase lab classes, That's all. Each year ,we got 2 semester.Each semester have mid sem and end sem.The questions are mostly from class lectures and previous year questions.

From 6th semester onwards, Students can get placement offers. Mainly mass recruiter companies like TCS, wipro, Infosys, cognizant comes here.Some top notch mncS like oracle,amazon, Microsoft also comes here .One senior of our previous batch got 1 cr Per annum in off campus way. Avg package is 10 lpa like . Jft and pst branch has full 100% placement. My plan after getting the degree is to be placed in top notch mnc & work as SDE.

I have paid 6882 inr for 1st semester fees .Out of which,3000 inr is for tuition fees for 6 months ,1500 inr for lab fees.Athletic fees, magazine fees etc costs 5 inr per month except Student health home which costs 2 Inr per month. For reserved category students like obc ,sc,st They got Oasis scholarship by West Bengal govt. Svmcm scholarship is what we UR candidates can also get.For that we need to score 60% aggregate in class 10 & 12 th marksheet.We get 60k inr per year in that,for renewal of that we need to maintain 6 cgpa at least.

Sadly,Our biggest drawback is that we lack different clubs in our campus.We don't have technical & cultural festivals .We are more focused into placement & research studies. Our library got many books including friction, non fiction stories technical books which includes more than 1000 books.

They give us meal two times a day in our hostel. We have a long process of hostel registration application which we first fill up in secretary office in technology campus then in raja bazar campus then in college street campus. The main criteria to get a hostel is that you must reside within the limit radius from your location to the campus, like in our case , It is 60 km from the college campus to your home location. If you don't get college hostel by any chance for just because location distance, you must contact nearby outside our college campus in Salt Lake ,a big PG is there.

I haven't applied to any other colleges except this in our wbjee exam counselling.I have given wbjee engineering entrance exam, total marks was 200 ,out of which I got 50 Marks. During 2nd callup of 1st round counselling,I got admitted to this university.And after physical verification,they kept my name recorded in their register book.

Faculty student ratio as per ugc norm is being followed here properly which is 1:20. I liked our maths faculty the most,it has two professors one male and another female here.Both are equally competent. No faculties are disliked by me as they are all well - qualified in their respective field. For exams,The questions came within the syllabus,we can easily get suggestions of questions from previous year questions & class lectures. Btw,The most interesting fact is that,They check papers very strictly for which achieving marks is tough here.

We got cafeteria, library, common room , auditorium etc . Our Hostel is too flexible for us,We got two campuses in Ballygunge tech hall & Razabajar campus hostel. My hostel is in Ballygunge.Here,they don't force us too much to be on time.But,yes,we got maximum timing of 11 pm at night.
