Kgec - A relationship for life

I can't remember anything negative about my college. It was not only an institution but also a temple to us where we were guided to enlightenment. I wish I could spend some more years of my life in such a beautiful College.

Four year course with Semester system. That means two semesters per year totalling 8 semesters' course. Curriculum also includes mid-sem internal exams, project work, assignments etc. Definitely a challenging course that requires immense flexibility from students.

No, our college doesn't provide internship. But placement scenario is still pretty good in the era of unemployment. Each year more than 75% students are placed in reputed multinational companies. Being one of the top Govt affiliated colleges in the state, it attracts many mass scale recruiters.

Auspicious occasions such as Saraswati puja, independece day, Teachers' Day, Republic day, Viswakarma Puja are celebrated each year with pomp and splendor. Annual Cultural and Technical Fest "ESPEKTRO" is the best among all and a lifetime experience. Apart from that inter-departmental sports tournaments, fresher's ceremony, farewell ceremony, student-teacher football match- all these are treat to watch.

Being a Govt. College, fee structure is extremely feasible. A student from General category needs to pay only Rs. 6000/- per semester. A separate 1000rs is also required for examination form fill up before semesters.

Scholarship is available on the basis of merit cum means. Those whose family income is below 3 lakh per annum and average score is more than 8.5 GPA are eligible for the same. Toppers of each year are recognized and facilitated by the Principal during annual fest.

Some labs are modern and some are old school type. However they possess all the essential equipments required. Sports tournaments like Cricket, Football, Tabil Tennis, Badminton both in between hostles and between departments are organised at regular interval. Students also take part in social activities like serving the poor and the needy ones.

Alumnis are constantly kept in touch with ongoing batches. During annual fests, alumni meet i.e alumni-student interaction session is organised which comes out to be a very interesting event. Alumnis guide students in every way possible and also support our events financially.

After passing higher secondary examination, I sat for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination and ranked 1662. After 4 rounds of counseling, I was selected for Mechanical Department on the above mentioned College.

Most of the teachers are very knowledgeable and possess higher qualifications.They are much helpful and friendly with students Their teaching techniques are also unique and up to date associated with scientific methods & technologies.
