Course Curriculum Overview
I read the course curriculum at IIEST shibpur as highly relevant and comprehensive, providing students with their solid foundation in their chosen fields. The curriculum is well structured with a focus on both theoretical and practical knowledge. For instance, the electrical engineering program covers of wide range of topics including circuit analysis ,electronics ,and Power systems, preparing students for real world applications. The curriculum prepares me and helps me well for real world applications with the focus on competency based learning. Areas for improvement include more flexibility in the curriculum and improved teaching methods. The exam system is challenging but manageable. Overall, I am satisfied with the course curriculum, which has provided a solid foundation for my future pursuits
Internships Opportunities
Iiest provides excellent internship opportunities with top companies like TCS Infosys Wipro Microsoft and more. Internships are offered in various roles such as software development data analysis research, and more, with stepends rangeen from ?10000 to ?50000 per month. Students works on the research projects industry sponsored projects and entrepreneurial Ventures, developing practical skills and innovation solutions eligibility varies, but typically students are eligible after completing their third or fourth year. Companies conduct their own selection process, and students must clarified task and expectations with the supervisors and mentor. Successful completion of internship often leads to pre placement of us and job opportunities.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario is quite impressive. Students typically become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester on world. Top recruiters includes companies like TCS ,Infosys ,Wipro ,and Microsoft visit the company for recruitments. Over 450 + offers are made every year ,with and average package of around 10 to 12 Lpa. Highest package offered is around rupees 1.2 crore per year. Around 80 to 90% students get placed through campus placements. The placement processes involves a series of test, interviews and group discussions. Students are prepared for the placement processes through various trainings programs , workshops and seminars. After completing the course. I plant to pursue a career in my chosen field, possibly in the top tech company. The college provide excellent placement opportunities and I am confident that I will be able to secure a good job. If not, I also have plan to pursue higher education or entrepreneurship
Fees and Financial Aid
IIEST shibpurs fee structure where is depending on the course like for b.tech the total tuition fee for b.tech program is ?5 lakh with the total fee ranging from ?7.2 lakh to ?7.39 lakh. Additional fees include as hostel fee ?2.17 lakh to ?2.36 lakhs, caution fee of ?3000 which is refundable , lab fee of ?1000, development fee of ?2500. Scholarships are available for meritorious students ,including merit cum means scholarship for 25% of UG students, National scholarship for students from different states, GAABESU scholarship of ?12,98,000. For different categories, students having the income certificate less than ?100000 gets full waiver. Also students from the category of SC, ST gets the full tution fee Waiver.
Campus Life
My overall experience with the campus life at IIST has been in enriching. The social atmosphere is vibrant, with diverse students groups and clubs catering to various interests. I am part of the robotics club, which has provided me with hands on experience and opportunities to participate in competitions. The campus infrastructure is well maintained with modern amenities like a library sports facilities and auditorium. Cultural events and festivals are regularly organised, allowing students to show case their talent. The student community is supportive and seniors are approachable providing guidance and mentorship. Overall the campus life has helped me develop holistically balancing academics with extra curricular activities and socializing
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility at the college provides comfortable and convenient living for the students. Rooms are spacious with basic amenities like beds full, study tables and storage space. Facilities includes fan, tubelight, and power socket. Meal quality is decent with a ride menu, but can get repetitive. Registration process is straight forward, with application forms available online or at the hostel office .Hostel fees are affordable, including meals , electricity and water supply bills and the mess charges. Overall, the hostel provides a great on campus living experience, with some limitations but affordability and amenities make it a great option.
Admission
I choose IIEST shibpur over NIT Durgapur due to its strong faculty research opportunities and infrastructure. IIEST shibpurs admission process involves JEE main and gate exams. Cut off range from 12200 marks for JEE main the semester system with the regular exam helps assess knowledge. Areas for improvement include curriculum flexibility teaching methods and the support system. Overall I am satisfied with the course curriculum. Strengths include well structured curriculum, emphasize on competency based learning and strong support system.

Some insights about the faculty members, course structure, exam system and marking scheme at IISc shibpur: Faculty members Qualifications and experience: the faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields , most of them hold PhD degrees from the reputable institutions and have several years of teaching and research experience. Teaching style: that teaching style of the faculty members is generally traditional, with a focus of lectures tutorials and laboratory sessions. However some faculty members also use modern teaching methods such as flipped classrooms online resources and project based learning. Night Life
The night life around the campus is subdued comma with campus facilities closing by 10:00 p.m. . The gym operates from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. while the cafeteria is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.. the library closes by 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Hostel in time is 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 p.m. on weekends. Campus remains open 24/7 but students need to register entry and exit after 10:00 p.m.. famous hangout spots inside the campus include the cafeteria library and the student union room. Outside the campus popular spots includes the Howrah station for street food and shopping new market for shopping and Park streets for restaurants and cafes. The locality is generally safe with minimal incidents reported but caution is advised while roaming around at night
