Course Curriculum Overview

3

Choosing my course was not difficult and the curriculum was quite relevant and comprehensive designed to serve the needs of present times. Curriculum is realistic and prepares us well to apply in the real world. The areas of improvement as per my opinion are Changing teaching methods, upgrading classroom facilities, using languages that enables us to present us to the world in a better way.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee for my course was around 40000. There were others examination charges as well. We got the benefit of Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme which exempted us from paying any fee. There is this scholarship available to the students from Jammu and Kashmir. I am not aware of other scholarships.

Campus Life

3

There weren't many annual and technical festivals; however, there were many cultural and religious festivals celebrated at different times of the year. There is a big library having thousands of books ranging from history, politics, economics, and many more. Also, daily newspapers were available in different languages. There weren't any major sports events. Some of the extracurricular activities were performed like drama performances on many cultural and historical aspects. Sports facilities are not good either and require complete transformation. There was this business club conducting most of the programs. The National Cadet Corps NCC is quite good and is fully functional there.

Admission

Honestly speaking, I didn't choose any college; my fate chose this college for me. I got admission to this college through a scholarship. We apply for the scholarship and set the preferences, and on that basis we get the college. No, I didn't get any rejection from any other college. I had set other preferences also, but I got this college in the first instance. The admissions process is quite simple. Submitting all the required documents, no need for any entrance exams and no need to worry about the cutoffs. This college is a local-level college primarily admitting locals and doesn’t require any entrance tests. However, the administrative staff is helpful; they help in every single thing and process everything smoothly. The overall admission process is good.

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio is around 38:1. The faculty-student relationship is quite good; they are friendly in nature and quite helpful. They are ready to help in any given circumstance. I liked some of the faculty members because of their good nature and conpassionate character. There were some whom I didn't like because of their behavior, but I am not able to recall their names. There are semester-wise exams—two exams per year for most of the courses. Exams are not difficult but are not easy either. Students usually pass the exams but sometimes the result goes the other way. Course curriculum is good, competitive however it is not followed to the fullest.

Night Life

1

There is no gym, cafetaria in the campus. There is a canteen having basic items and fast food options but overall this whole setup was not good. There is a library and several parks to roam in the campus. There is no hostel as it is specifically made for local populace. Locality is safe but i am not sure of any night life there.
