Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is good but not very industry oriented. The syllabus does not make the students very market ready for jobs. The syllabus keeps on repeating over the years and this needs to change. The teaching is also primarily focused on textbook topics rather than practical industry knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are limited in comparison to placements. More over the internships provided are not directed sourced or through an agency lr third-party company. Most of them for Bcom revolve around onlinr marketing andead generation.
Placement Experience
The placements are started from the 5th sem onwards. For this the college has a dedicated placement cell that mainly focuses on gathering placements. The highest package for Bcom in year 2023 was 10LPA and aroung 90% placement offers were made. The average package of Bcom placements is 5LPA
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees in the 1st year was around Rs.35000 and additional fees included examination fees of both sems which brought the total upto 38000. This fees incresed to Rs.38000 in 2md year and Rs.40000 in the last year. The examination fees is compulsory and is to be paid. Also if the attendance is below 75% then fine is also applicable
Campus Life
There are 2-3 fests held each semester. Also there are various clubs and societies that invite students like enactus, Rotaract, C&M These give much needed exposure but also can be distracting. The sports facility is not very good. However NCC facility is provided for all aiming students The library is also resourceful full of books and ebooks and journals.
Admission
I applied for Chandigarh University and all other colleges under Panjab University. I selected this college as it the most reputable and best college among all in tricity. The admission process includes filling admission form through DHE website. Then filling the preference of college and then college releases the list
Faculty
The faculty is knowledgeable and helpful in nature. The teachers can be strict many times but also they are liberal in case of attendance and not attending classs regularly. The exams are held twice in a semester. One is mid-sems that include around 50-70% of syllabus and the next js end-sem that is 100% of syllabus. The mid-sems are college conducted
Night Life
There are various cafe near the college in sector 32 itself. Aslo one can visit sector 34, 35 for more options. The locality is safe as it is adjacent to police station. Also it is well connected to road so no problem is getting public transport.
