Perfect place to gain knowledge

At first many students clearing off the jee advance get their first chance to live far from home, they do not feel comfortable enough to share a room with a stranger. But believe me, this journey is very fascinating. As the time passes and after first semester, every one love the college.

Current course curriculum at IITs are somewhat similar to that at local colleges. There are eight semesters for undergraduate programme, with two exams per semester. According to me curriculum is quite flexible.

Jobs at IITs are very well heard off. I am a final year student of electronics engineering and my whole batch is placed. Circuital branches have 100% placements. Also interns are provided with interviews held during the start of third year followed by intern duration during the following summer of third year. I interned at Samsung with stipend of 35k.

Apart from departmental events held at every department every year, events like technex( technical and scientific event of IIT-BHU), kashiyatra( cultural event of IIT-BHU), spardha(sports event of IIT-BHU) are also held annually.

Fee structure are different for all IITs. My fee structure is 51k for academic, 12k for mess per semester. The following juniors to us have double the fee structure as we have in academics. It is different for general, OBC, SC, ST.

Every IIT offer(at least my IIT) mcm scholarship, in which we get 50k scholarship per semester (45k for academic + 5k for pocket money). It is offered to 25% of students in a branch, as per their ranks in jee advance. It is different for all categories (gen, OBC, sc, St). Every categories with their top 25% will get this scholarship with some T and C.

Labs are held according to courses at every department. Students are motivated for Extra curricular activities right from the start of their first year, like we have different clubs at IITs, Fine arts club, science and technology council, film and media clubs, etc. They held workshops for students in evening.

Hostels at my college are old constructed. BHU has it's engineering section started at year 1919. And some hostels are constructed back in year 1960s or so. Renovation takes place according to the condition of a hostel. Overall we have a roommate per room.

Seniors are very helpful at IITs. They are more helpful then some professors even :p. Alumni network at IIT-BHU is very strong with many great leaders like nikesh Arora and several others passed out in history.

I got selected in this college after the prestigious exam held all over the country every year, IIT-JEE ADVANCED in year 2015. After results, we need to fill out the college and branch preference form available online.

Faculties at almost all IITs are aged. By this I mean that they are experienced, but are quite a bit lazy. In general it depends on departments the forum of faculties it has. For example at my college the faculty at mechanical department is very strict in terms of academic.
