Remarks
Our college is one of the best engineering college in Mumbai, but quality of education is not upto the level upto which it should be infact all private engineering colleges in India have same condition. They just produce useless engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is followed by Mumbai University pattern which very outdated, it needs to updated according to new technologies and requirements in market. Exam structure is semester based CBGS (credit based grading system). There are two internal assessment examination (20 marks each) every semester, average of which is added in final result. At end of the semester there is end sem examination of 80 marks.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities in our college is not so good as in our campus only IT companies visited this year so it becomes very tough for students of other branches (like Electronics and Telecommunication in my case) to get a good job because IT companies always gives preferences to Comps/IT students directly or indirectly. Our college doesn't provide internship to students ( there are no companies tie-ups). Even if we get internship from other sources it's becomes very difficult to complete, because of the exam pattern of Mumbai University. It takes approximately 1 month to complete our end semester examination, hence we don't get enough vacation for Internship. However I managed to get internship at FOSSEE, IIT Bombay for 6 weeks for Signal processing toolbox development for Scilab. And i got a stipend of 10,000 per month.
College Events
There are various cultural and technical events celebrated at our college. The main two events are ZODIAC and ICARUS.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure varies every year slightly but it is decided by Fee Structure Commitee of Mumbai University. In my case it is approximately ? 1,10,000 per year. It's feasible, as Maharashtra government provides good amount of scholarship ship for reserver categories, but it may be expensive for students belonging to other states (as in my case).
Fees and Financial Aid
Officially college doesn't provide education loan, but you can avail it from your bank (but it doesn't worth to study engineering from this college by taking loan). Good Scholarship! Yes good scholarship is provided by Maharashtra government fir students of Maharashtra for reserved categories like SC, ST, NT, OBC, EBC. But for students from other states they doest even help to get scholarship if their state government provides. (as in my case Jharkhand government provides scholarship for engineering student under eKalyan Scheme but college need to registered with eKalyan portal of Jharkhand government I told college administration about this, then instead of helping me they strictly told me we can't help for scholarship for other states students)
Campus Life
There are various technical committees like RGIT-IEEE, IETE students forum, MESSA, CESS, ABIT, ASME, aeroRGIT (founded by us) etc which provides opportunities for students to participate in extracurricular activities like various seminar, workshop, career guidance, project competition etc. Labs are not very well equipped in our department also in other departments also. There are college Football and Cricket teams which participate in various inter college matches. There is various sports events during our annual cultural festival ZODIAC.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is not provided in our college. If you are not from this city then you have to arrange your accommodation on your own. Students which are outsider for this city they live with 2-3 more students in nearby building's flats which cost them around ?8,000 - ?12,000 per flat per month (cheapest accommodation) and they either cook their self or eat on the mess.
Alumni/Alumna
There is Alumni committee of RGIT which has a large network of our college alumni. senior students are always helpful to us. Our alumni includes VICKY KAUSAL (URI actor). Also there is grand annual alumni meet where our our alumni shares their experience in industry with us.
Admission
I have got admission through JEE (MAINS) 2015. The process was to apply for colleges under any one State University of Maharashtra (in my case I applied for University of Mumbai) as I was from other than Maharashtra State i had to apply for All India seats which were 5% of total seats. According to marks in JEE and preferences they provide seat in colleges for admission there were 3 rounds for admissions (CAP Rounds). Presently this college takes admission from MH-CET instead of JEE (mains).
Faculty
The facilities of our college are kind and helpful. They always guided me for my future career and always updated me with latest trends in technologies in world. As I am sure that i have to do job after my graduation and not higher studies they always gives me information about corporate world and jobs in market.
