NIT ROURKELA is nice college situated in the heart of rourkela city and can be reached though ralways from varoius parts of the country.Nearest airport is at Ranchi and Raipur.There are separate hostels for boys and girls and a common swimming pool with different timings.
Course Curriculum Overview
Engineering couse is a 8 semester course and cosists of various subjects with 4 credits and 2 credits.4 credit is a theory paper and 2 credit is a lab paper.Each semester was of 25-30 credits and exam was conducted in two forms(mid sems and end sems).Each mid sem paper was of 30 marks and end sem of 50 marks.
Placement Experience
Placements start from 7th and 8th semester.Companies are categoried in normal,dream and super dream as per the packages offered.Comapnies allow students to sit in the campus placements as per their cgpa.
College Events
Spring fest,winter fest ,tech fest and singing,debate competitions are organised as per 1st 2nd 3rd 4th year students. Celebrity fest was organised each year in the month of april and we enjoyed that day alot.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Around 80000 per year was collected from students per year through online process.fees were given twice (once per semester) in a year.Fees was divided into admission,library,medical,hostel and cumulativeccategory.
Fees and Financial Aid
Sbi education loan was offered to each student if they wanted to apply with an interest rate of around 8.5%.Loan was interest free during the first 4 years when the student studies.Scholarships was given to sc st and mritorious students.
Campus Life
Labs are well equipped with machines. There is a workshop present in the college and it has a cnc machine ,welding machines and various cutter tools which are made familiar to the students in first year. .
Alumni/Alumna
Very strong alumni network known as NITRAA.Seniors are helpful in grooming juniors for a better future and good academic career.Alumni fund some economically background students and also conduct placements.
Admission
Form fill up of Aieee exam conducted by cbse was done and exam was given.As per ranks in both state and national category we got admissions in engineering colleges after counselling process.State category was 50%and Air was 50%
Faculty
Highly qualified faculty with phd from Iit and nit colleges.They have a good technical backgound and understanding of concepts is very thorough.Some of them follow nptel video lectures and teach in the class.
