Course Curriculum Overview

4

•The course provides the real value into the life of students as the subject of commerce is of daily use in everyone's life. The course offers the keen understanding of financial sector of our country • It taught everything the a finance student must know about securities market, Mutua funds etc • The area of improvement - it need to make the course more professional level as i think the subject materials are very basic and don't provide the desired output. • The semester exams takes place in Every 4-5 months depending upon the external and internal factors, apart from that regular tests are conducted by the faculty

Internships Opportunities

4

There are various internship opportunities available i particularly know about my department as it solely don't offer any but depending on the marks and knowledge it offers to some students the stipend varies between 2000 to 5000 per month

Placement Experience

5

Students from 5th semester become eligible to sit in the placement drives. The companies like Tata, Aditya Birla, Bajaj Finance, Indian overseas bank, many startups NGO like- Piramal foundation, Ajim Premzi foundation offers the fellowships Govt. Bodies also come as i got the young professional internship in C&AG Offers made by companies varies but on a minimum 2 lakh to 12 lakh per annum. 30-40% students get the placement. I am doing my internship after that will do MBA. And get into corporate.

Fees and Financial Aid

I opted for the course B.Com(Hons) Financial Market Management which is a specialised course in finance the annual fee is 27,000 ( 2500 regular fees + 25,500 for FMM) the course capacity is relativity less than B.Com(Hons), that's why it deliver the best output as it becomes easy for the professors to keep and eye on majority students, The course offers placement opportunities too , myself got the package of 6 LPA in my 6th semester from a Bengaluru based company. However I didn't joined because I got the internship opportunity in Comptroller and auditor general of India which is the Supreme audit institution of India , i got to know about it from the placement cell of the university, hence I can say that the placement cell of BHU pertains with strong network. Back to the FMM course it gives detail knowledge about the financial markets ( SEBI , IRDA, RBI, NAFRA etc) and practices that are followed under it , During the 5th semester every students have to undergo a 2 month internship from any recognised body and for that the LOR is given by department itself, so it gives the practical exposed too, the last semester consists 100 marks of VIva which based on the overall knowledge a student got during the course. If you are thinking that 27,000 is too much for this course then don't worry there is central government and state government scholarships scheme that reimburse the whole 27,000 into the bank account of students.

Campus Life

4

The fests like, kashiyatraa, spandan are the annual fests of BHU it helds usually on january month. BHU has one of the biggest library with a sitting capacity of more than 3000 students, and vide range of books. The classroom are decent , smart classes are also there. There are regular sports activities took place in the campus and other co curricular activities took place. Students runs so many club like rhetorica debate club , mosques music club, rangmanch acting club and so on.

Admission

I applied for St. Xavier Collage, Delhi University apart from Banaras Hindu University, i got my name in the merit as well but when I did research about the infrastructure, accessibility of necessary facilities, faculty, examination, course curriculum etc i found out BHU perfectly aligned with ny goals BHU provide free medical facilities to its student's it has its hospital Sir Sunderlal Hospital, health centre , Trauma centre. Asia's largest residential Campus as well.

Faculty

4

•The faculties to student ratio is 1:20, the relationship between them is at par and they are very helpful and supportive, however some faculties are very rude and arrogant and they favour some students because of their background and roots. • The taxation faculty Mr. Lal Babu Jaiswal Sir is one of the most finest and humble faculty in the whole commerce faculty I admire him the most despite being so busy whole day he always answers the queries of student and very supportive and optimistic in nature. • Prof H.K. Singh initially he was the professor and now he is the dean of the commerce faculty, but he is very arrogant and rude, he don't consider the content of students and very lethargic. • In FMM, there are 6 semester each semster consists of 6 subject but the last semester consist only 5 subject and 100 marks of viva , there is regular tests, assignment and presentation activity The exams are of 70 marks and 30 marks of sessional , the session marks are calculated based on the assignment, attendance, class participation.

Night Life

5

There is open gyms in BHU campus and a dedicated gym as well which is accessible for students The dedicated gym has two time slots morning 5-9 evening 5-9 The open gym has no time its open 24*7 There is Madhuban ( garden) which has Nescafe, the clean campus gives positive aura. Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.Com course curriculum in my college is quite relevant and well structured. It covers core commerce subjects like accounting, business studies, and economics, which helped me choose this course. The syllabus mainly focuses on building strong theoretical fundamentals, which is useful for students planning higher studies such as M.Com, MBA, or professional courses like CA. The curriculum prepares students reasonably well for academic purposes, but there is still scope for improvement in terms of real-world exposure. More practical learning, case studies, presentations, and industry interaction would make the course more skill-oriented and career-focused. The college follows the semester system with internal and external examinations conducted regularly. The exams are of moderate difficulty level. Students who attend classes regularly, complete assignments, and study consistently can pass and score good marks.
