Fees and Financial Aid

190000 fees Per year Registration fee 120000 for all Management quota around 9,00,000 for ai Ml. Books had to be bought for 1st year (compulsory) from college around 8000. Uniform and shoes had to be bought from college

Campus Life

Pretty basic library, 1st year students are not allowed to borrow books and library cannot be visited during classes. Loads of fests occur every month such as hackathons and robotic events. No proper sports facility available

Admission

This college is considered one of the best private colleges in west bengal. Admission is done through a test taken by the institute known as IEMJEE . Syllabus is same as jee and difficulty is on JEE MAINS level

Faculty

Faculty is mediocre There are total 3 written exams per semester along with practical exams. Not enough gap is given between each exams. Loads of assignments and projects are given, plus there's loads of tech events and workshops. The course curriculum is pretty relevant and useful

Night Life

Loads of food vendors around the campus providing good quality food Library available 24*7 Locality is considerably safe around night, street remains crowded. Famous hangout place is Mc Donald's which is nearby

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Well other than that I definitely put Techno Main , Heritage Institute of Technology, Jalpaiguri Government, kalyani Government and Haldia Institute of Technology too . But the rank didn't allow me to get my desired branch that is CSE in kalyani and jalpaiguri, so I had to close from the private ones and if you have to pick the best one in Kolkata which was also not far waya from my hometown , definitely you choose IEM , as it definately has a good placement track record and good curriculum. Well you can get into this college through WBJEE(which they didn't took this year ) , IEMJEE and direct admission too . But direct admission requires some extra donation amounts too . So prefer qualifying the exams ....Read More

So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. So now I talked about eligibility criteria:- You should pass your +2 from any board with a maximum of 60% Admission in this college is 3 types WBJEE, JEE MAIN, IEMJEE all three forms you will get notified by college dunia if you have an account in it. So the IEM KOLKATA is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata and you can say in India also so the cuttoff goes very high you have to get minimum rank for this college. This college admission procedure takes 2 days 1st admission to the college it will take 6 hours. 2nd makaut registration will take next 4 to 5 hours.
