AN OVERVIEW OF BIT MESRA RANCHI

My Course is mainly about coding and data structure algorithms. The computer science branch is growing fast that's why I choose this. With increasing development of AI and Data science, the course is very relevant for us. The exams occur as mid sem and end sem and in between quizzes are there.

The internship are always there for 3rd year students but the selection of students in internships is little bit less. Company do provide online internship also. The stipend amount is not known to us but the value is good. And this provides good references at the time of placments.

From 6th semester students are eligible for the internship and from 7th onwards students are eligible for the campus placement. College have good placement statistics in CSE branch for last two years where average package is about 18 lpa. Almost all companies visit the college for campus placements and last year highest package is 57lpa in CSE branch. Some seniors are saying that this year average package of CSE will be about 24 lpa Which seems quite good.

We have to pay fees semester vise on the ERP portal by online mode. I have paid 311500 at the time of josaa counselling. In which 10000 is caution money ... 60000 for laptop ... They said it as IT charges. Tution fees is 144000. Development fees is 10000. Mess advance is 35000. Hostel rent 20000.

There are many clubs and societies in the college which are run by students themselves. Some clubs have performed at the international level. We have dhwani as a musical club which goes to IIT Bombay to perform in its cultural fest ... Mood Indigo. There is a annual sports meet named vajra which held in last week of January and cultural fest named BITOSAV in March. Annual cricket competition also held in Feb every year. These all provide students all the ways for there full development.

The size of room is small and it is for two students. So there is bit of problem but that can be resolved by good room partner. There is one open cupboard in the room .. one chair and one table is provided. Two beds are also there for the students. The menu of mess is decided by mess secretary and some student representatives. Overall quality is good.

I have given JEE mains exam in 2023 and I got 35626 as my CRL rank. After that I participated in josaa counselling for my college. In which I got BIT Mesra as per my deservance along with my CSE branch. BIT MESRA provides 50 percent reservation to the home state students of jharkhand and 50 percent from all India quota. It also provides category reservation which is given in all colleges.

The faculty to student ratio is about 1:50 and there is good relationship between faculties and students. Some faculties teaches like a friend while some are strict. The difficulty level of exam is moderate. The students of first semester mainly have 5 main subjects which include maths, chemistry, basic of electronics, basics of mechanical engineering and environmental science. End sem exams are of 50 marks each other 50 includes 2 quizzes of 10 each and 5 assignment and 25 mid sem. The no of students which fails in exams depend on subject ... Like more no of students fails in subject like basics of electronics and basics of mechanical engineering. The curriculum is relevant to the curriculum of IITs

There are 4-5 cafeteria in the college which opens at the 10 am every day and closes at 8pm. But some even remains open in the night about 3am. Some canteen are in hostels which remain open in night. The facility of Zomato is also available in the college for the students. There are 4-5 gyms in the sports complex... For boys.. for girls, there is gym in there hostel itself. Gyms of boys contains electronic machines as well.
