Entrance Preview
JAM, 78 marks out of 300, i opted for IIT delhi because its good, staying in delhi has defferent experience. City exposure also delhi has good atmosphere for studies.
Course Curriculum Overview
Good, mathematics as core subject, statistics, Applied mathematics, Numerical analysis, real algebra, real analysis, optimization also we where required to do a project in second year.
Internships Opportunities
No stipend. You could get scholarship of rs, 1000 per month if you are in top 10 in your class in mid term also there is a provision where in if You score below 5 CGPA in first mid term u could be terminated.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities are good. IIT is a brand name many companies come here some are quite good cognizant (offerd 8 lakh package), barkley ( 9 lakh) etc. Some of my batchmates even got placed.
College Events
Many events are celebrated almost all time of year there is some or other event . There is every opportunity for student to show his talent many special and high profile keep visiting the campus. In my time kapil sibbal, raghuram rajan, apj abdul kalam, pandit ravi shankar, etc. where special gests. Events are organized very big. Participants come from all over india.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure. 7000 per semester. If you live in hostel u have to pay 14000 per semster as mess charges. Accomodation charges are mere 800 . It seems quite feasible also u could easily get loan for iits..
Fees and Financial Aid
No i have not availed any such scholarship. But there is scholarship as i mentioned above, If u score in top 10 in ur class u could be given 1000 per month.
Campus Life
Students from all over india come here. Also good number of parties were organised. In a year we had two students teacher party night also there was mess party. There is no politics here. Each hostel has some representatives to look after the hostel works. These are elected among hostel students by voting . I must they did there job quite well.
Hostel Facilities
Hostal was excellent with every facilty. 24 hour electricity. Filter water. Hostel was quite clean. Hostels were sharing as well as single . It depends what u get m.sc students live with b.tech , m.tech that is hostel are same for all courses.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes i had interaction with my seniors. They were quite helpful at first we 1st year students were quite afraid of level of iit exams. But they helped us cope with that.
Exam Structure
There is 2 semester per year in 1 semester there is two exams mid term and major term like wise we had 4 semsters. as mathematics students we had no labs.
Faculty
Faculty was average. It was not upto my expectations . But they where very punctual and dedicated to teach. Overall there was enough help provided by them to us. Some teachers where new and were not experienced to cope with us.
