A short documentary on my college.

Positivity yeah, a hell lot of them, being a emerging college the infrastructure and faculties are new. Huge amount of greenery is present and located in a serene and cool space, in tezpur. Only negative remark is that it is situated very far away from the town, around 20kms, and no regularly college buses ply along the route.

4.5 course length, with exams happening every 6 months known as semester endings, and also internal exams, before each semester. And at the end of each year, professional exams are held by the main governing body, common all other medical colleges in the state of assam.

Being a government college, job placements are sure shot. An mbbs graduatee, has to do one year of internship at the hospital itself with around ?20k,stipend per month. After that 2 years of pg and rural posting and further increments.

All the main national festivals like republic days, independence day, birth ceremonies of popular nationals like gandhi, tagore, local freedom fighters and noted beings from medical wings. Also cultural festivals like, holi, diwali, saraswati puja, raamzan (iftar), Christmas, bihu etc. And among others like, freshement social, teachers day, mass plantation drive, blood donation camps, public awareness through street dramas, seminars etc. And most importantly a college week, at march every year, comprising of all three literature & art, sports, cultural events.

Feasible, completely affordable. For day scholars only admission fees are reqd., examination fees are for hoteliers a minimum of 2000 is to be given. And no monthly expenses other than that. And a certain amount of 100/200/500 are sometimes collected, for college welfare or college union.

Scholarship are not obtained as whatsoever as being a government college, but the government provides scholarship to the economicall poor or background students. And in extreme cases the college waives away the fee structure, and free hostel and mess services are provided.

Labs are a primary feature for medical institute, so they are plenty of them., with well equipped reagents instruments etc. No doubt in there. Extracurricular activities, there's lots of scope to expand our talents, 2 different fiels for cricket and football, a separate court for volleyball and badminton. And also a large hall dedicated only to indoor games like tt, chess, carrom etc. A separate music room, for the music lovers, literary forums are held, including quizzes, debate, arts etc.

I have opted for hostel and the monthly dues is ?2200. Its a full and living hostel with newly build buildings, for both ug and pg students. Its 4 floor building with separate areas for mess, common room, sports room, etc.

Since its medical college, its a single fraternity, so all seniors, doctors, juniors are all interlinked. Of course my seniors are very good and yeah we get a lot of support from them, always helping us during exams, depressing condition etc. And for alumni, the regularly visit the institute, and always a great gathering is observed during the college week.

There's this entrance exam, for the undergraduate courses, known as NEET, through which if marks obtained above criterion are called for counselling based solely on the marks obtained, and further scrutinized from the board of medical institution in guwahati, and then colleges are allotted, also further admission criteria like health mental are further scrutinized to finally allow admission.

The faculty are all experienced and are from various medical college from assam and also from india, and also pg students. They are well versed with the course and are professional practioners. All around, support is provided by them.
