Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course I choose is the MSc chemistry and this is so good for the future study as well as in the jobs field. And I was very interested to study this chemistry subject in master.this is so applicable and the topic in this subject is so interesting.this is helps to take this course.this course is so many real world applications. And the field i choose is so helps in lab techniques the teaching methods are so good . timings of exam is for two hours and as my experience in first internals , I could manage the time but the exam was a little tough but the time was manageable.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees I paid was 61014 rs for a year including registration fees ,tuition fees lab and others . We have applied for the SSP and NSP scholarships which are state and national scholarships but we haven't recieved the scholarship amount yet . It is not yet alloted . So we don't know the amount available from scholoships. When about the fees of my batchmates , I didn't had any friends before coming here so I don't exactly know the fees of my benchmates

Campus Life

4

We recently had youth fest where we can participate in defferent competitions like dance ,song and other activities. Some of my friends also participated and got the certificate which is useful in the future. About the library, it is so good and we can easily access books . Most of the books are available . And the technological provisions, we have projectors in the classrooms and the lectures use it to show us some important diagrams and pictures to make us better understand. And there is sports competition where we can participate.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel rooms are good. And the mess facility is not too good but still better . Registration process was same as college. Menu is good for north canara people as it matches their taste . I am from other state so it's a little not adjusted to me. But it's not bad .

Admission

I didn't Applied for the any other colleges so I don't know much about it. As I only wanted to do my post graduation in the university i didn't think of applying other colleges. About thea dmission process of our college, it was very systematic and first they selected the candidate according to the rank in the entrance test . And next there was document verification process and then the further processes . They selected the candidates based on the ranking and also the category wise and other quota s like sports .

Faculty

4

The teaching staffs are so good and they solve our problems when we need. I liked the all of our faculties teaching system.we have two internals ,and one sem exam. The internals are so difficult to get the marks .the questions are so applied.the internal will be of 20 marks and sem exam will be 80 marks

Night Life

4

As I'm a hosteller there is a strict rules that we can't be late after 6 o clock . There are canteens in university campus and a central library which is so good and has many good competitive books . There are places near the campus to hangout in the evening andoutside the entrance also . I don't know if it is safe to roam around at night or not cause we usually get to the hostel before 6 o clock.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
