Remarks
Government college so they are trying level best to be top class. Many facilities are coming and have been established for the students. So each and every student have to utilize it properly. So that more and more facilities comes up in the future.
Course Curriculum Overview
Better. Still have to improve and it's been improving based on regulations. For example I studied in 2012 regulations. Now it's 2018 regulations. It's been improving. Each year 2 semesters. Where there will be 6 subjects and 2 practicals. So in a year 12 subjects.
Placement Experience
No internship. We have to search from our side. Facilities will guide you where to go and attend internship. How it's useful to you. And about Placements, now a days it's become down. Core sectors are expecting only experienced people than Freshers.
College Events
GECOFEST- Annual Day of GCE Salem, where everyone shows their unique talent in a marvellous way. Sports day where faculties and students show up how they're good at sports. And Department wise Fest where inter-college and intra-college students participate to show their talent.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. Government college so fees are less. And of course they provide scholarships to each and every Category students but less for general Category students. They also provide bus and train pass.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since I am a general Category student, I don't have any idea about scholarships nor loans. Every Category students get scholarships yearly. Sometimes rules were framed they have to clear exams to avail scholarship.
Campus Life
I was a day-scholar. So I didn't get into any extracurricular activities. Of course I went to the English Literature Club and go to know something what's important to develop English and how it's important for our daily life.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes my seniors were helpful. They helped me a lot during my course for 4 years. Without seniors guidance we couldn't know about anything like what are facilities are there in college, what subjects have to be studied, how to clear exams etc.
Admission
Based on 12th marks. Cut-off will be drawn on Physics, Chemistry and Maths out of 200. Physics and Chemistry out of 100. Maths out of 100. On the basis of total we got out of 200, merit list will be drawn based on Cut-off and Category wise. And we have to choose the College.
Faculty
Experienced faculty. Many have got transfer. Many are getting experienced. Many have retired. So it's up to Government to fill the vacant post. Since a faculty post is vacant means 30 to 50 students are in lack of faculty and gain less knowledge.
