As we are under the new syllabus framed by Calcutta University for B.com (H) our syllabus is designed to match with the professional courses curicullum.

College Events

There are various events organised by our college and the members of student union. These are as under: 1)Annual Quest: cultural based festival, having different set of activities like dancing, quiz, project presentation etc. 2) Socials: this involves lot of chilling activities like DJ dancing etc. 3) Saraswti puja and other festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is almost negligible around INR 85 a month. Even my admission fee is just INR 5 and they are naot charging unnecessarily for any activities. Since its a government college i believe that the expenses above the revenue is borne by government. However union of college used to take around 700 INR in each semester on account of various functions which is very bad.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provide various scholarships schemes and other facilities according to State Government policies. Since it is a government college. They have tied up with one doctor who use to provide medical services at concesaional rates to students.

Campus Life

I must appreciate college have different sports equipment like hockey basketball table tennis carrom which is good for chilling. Also they organise various sports meet to promote sports. No need of lab in our college. they have computer lab consisting more than 100 computers. However we rarely get a chance to operate them.

Admission

Once results of WBCHSE are out College use yo start theor admission process. We have to fill online application form and out of which college issue merit list of students eligible for admission. I filled the form and my name appeared on merit list. Accordingly i got admission in College.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
