Remarks

A thing which I don't like is 24x7 library doesn't remain open. There is hostel timing restrictions also. Security improvements are required. Motorized vehicles shouldn't be allowed to the students. Rest I enjoy very much the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Electrical Engineering at IIT (BHU) Varanasi gives you tremendous flexibility in pursuing one's interests in Coding, Electronics and Core Electrical Engineering. 3rd yr onwards, we get an option of open electives. That means one could choose subjects from another department, depending on one's interest. There are mid semester, end semester and some quizzes in between.

Placement Experience

5

Placements and job opportunities are excellent in my college. Students from Computer Science and Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Elective Engineering and Electrical Engineering got placed within first three days this placement season. My college provides internship with stipend of ?10,000 for 8 weeks.

College Events

5

There 3 major fests and 2 minor fests. Major fests are Spardha - one of the Asia's largest sports fest, Kashiyatra - the socio-cultural fest and Technex - Asia's oldest techno-management fest. Minor fests are FMC Weekend - India's largest digital arts fest and Jagriti - social service fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is divided into 2 parts. Academic fees and mess fees. Mess fees is ?12,000/semester compulsory for all. There are some one time refundable and non refundable charges. Tuition fees is ?1,00,000/semester. There is ?rd concession for students having family income between 1 and 5 lpa. For below 1 lpa there is 100% concession.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not availed any scholarship or loan facility. But, there is a State Bank of India branch in IIT(BHU). It offers education loan at nil interest rate. There are many scholarships by the alumni for the students.

Campus Life

4

College life is one of the best among IITs. There are 5 student Councils. Film and Media Council, Science and Technology Council, Cultural Council, Games and Sports Council, Social Service Council. Labs are well equipped. Almost all sports are there in college with dedicated coaches.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are 12 boys and 4 girls hostels in total. Few hostels are newly built. The rooms are non-air-conditioned. The hostels are green and nicely ventilated. Each hostel has an administrative warden and two warden.

Alumni/Alumna

The college recently celebrated its centenary. It completed 100 years. So , it has a very broad alumni network. Alumni help a lot in interns, job opportunities and developing infrastructure. Senior- Junior interaction is one of the best in IIT(BHU). They are very helpful.

Admission

First I had qualified JEE MAIN in my 12th appearing year. Then I had to qualify JEE Advanced. Then there is a Counseling process. The counseling is conducted by JoSAA. There are 7 rounds in that. After 1st round, I had to report to my nearest reporting centre.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty is good. Helping and well qualified. There are few professors awarded by the President of India also. Faculties use both traditional and digital method to teach. The professors are also very encouraging in research part.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
