Remarks

College is overall average. Not much of life in it. Festivals are just fine. Requires to cut down the fee structure for self financing courses and also to appoint good class of experienced and qualified teachers who are upto date with the subject they're teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is very common as compared to regular b.com course, even though I've did specialisation in (Banking and insurance) which is a self financing course the contents of course are more or less the same. The exam structure is no different twice in a year externals and internals

Placement Experience

1

Very few placement opportunities provided by college, exactly opposite of what the college has stated in their prospectus documents, I've been selected in one company though as a sales executive which was not something most of the students asked for so yes bad experience there

College Events

2

Every year so called fantasies used to happen which was biggest college festival in the SIES. Few other festivals related to culture and science used to take place as required by management. College staff wasn't very supportive And lacking at motivating students to participate in such festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Highly expensive if you ask me. A regular B.com course is for around 6,000-7,000 per annum. The course that I've did from that college. Was B.B.I costing around 25,000-26,000. All the other courses like BMS, BFM, BAF are for same cost which is not justified.

Fees and Financial Aid

No such information available with me, But yes college do provide scholarship To only south Indian students belonging to economically backwards classes And at the same time State Government also provides some financial aid to reserve category students.

Campus Life

4

Yes, Lot of extracurricular activities are made available for students to participate into. Especially for junior college students. There's gymkhana available in the college which has table tennis and carrom available in it. Also outdoor sports like basketball and football court is also there in college.

Alumni/Alumna

I'm not connected with any of my seniors. They were not supportive during the period when i was studying this course in SIES. So i can not make any comments there on. But i can definitely say they weren't much of any help.

Admission

Through the online admission process prescribed by the state government, I've got admission through this very process and in first merit list itself, there are 3-4 merit lists are being listed every year for admission process to select candidates

Faculty

2.5

As far as faculty is concerned very less qualified faculties for B.com (Banking and insurance) course as same three teachers excluding visiting faculties have tought us for entire course of 3 years. Though we had very good visiting faculties for 1 paper each semester which used to change every semester as per subject requirements

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
