Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is apt as per theory part. The lab curriculum could have been better to keep up with the present job requirements. The syllabus could be improved to cope up the students to appear for the various entrance exams. More guidance could be provided to the students for different job opportunities and research field
Internships Opportunities
The different companies that provide internships are biotech, syngene, astrazenica etc. Research associate and lab assistant posts will be provided with fair amount of stipend. They provide basic research opportunities.
Placement Experience
There is a placement cell to provide the campus selection for the deserved candidates. Different companies approach with pretty good amount of packages. The students can even try in local colleges for the job opportunities which will pay a fairly good amount
Fees and Financial Aid
Merit students will get seats and the fee is nominal as per the universit rule. Hostel fees will be extra if uoubopt for hostel. For non merit students there will be a donation in upto 40000. Reservation is there for selected category. Exam fees will be extra.
Campus Life
The campus life is not much appreciated as science students are very busy with their lab work and studies. There are different culture activities and other clubs for the interested students who can participate in various competitions and different fests. Various state level conferences are held to boost the confidence of students to take up the research field. The campus has very good library with large number of reference books and research journals. Library is very accessible and student friendly.
Admission
The university is at its best for the lab facilities provided. I have not applied for any other colleges as the university got its own standards. The admission process is purely on the merit basis and reservation category. Management seats are also provided at reasonable fees The fees is very nominal as per the university rules. So it is very convenient for the rural students who cannot effort high fees from the private colleges
Faculty
The faculty is realy commendable. BK sir, BTG sir are very experienced and great source of knowledge and inspiration. The lab curriculum and infrastructure could be better to keep up with the present day requirement
Night Life
The campus is a little bit away from the city but the students can definitely enjoy the weekends in the nearest city Mangalore. You have shopping malls, beach, park and resorts and also pretty good hotels. The pabbas is famous for its different ice cream flavours and definitely a must visit place.
