Remarks

College's VC is really good, intelligent and hardworking. But some of the placement managers are lethargic owing to the deemed status of our university and their vested interests.

Entrance Preview

WBJEE. Entrance examination used to have 100 question in each of the three subjects namely Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Now since the college is under central government and equivalent to IIT, thus some of the students are taken from nation level examinations.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Curriculum is good but not that great. It mainly depends on students that how much diligent they are to learn and grasp the concepts. Though it covers almost all the major subjects required for ETC branch, but still I believe that focus on any particular subject in the last two years would have been a great opportunity for research and development.

Internships Opportunities

I didn't join any internship programme. But there are many opportunities to work with some of major PSUs. So it actually depends on the individual that what he really wants to perceive.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are decent with minimum of 90% students getting placed every year. From some of software giants to core companies, everyone recuirts from our college talent pool. So packages vary as per individuals' talent and companies bandwidth of offerings. Minimum is 3.5 lpa and max it goes to 8-10 lpa.

College Events

4

There are many technological and cultural events held by our university every year. Categories for tech fest are programming skills, gaming expertise, robo wars, robo terrains, management case studies and a lot more. For more information please visit our university page. Cultural fests are filled with more of fun, frolic and entertainment such as modelling, singing, dancing and theatre acts.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is very nominal. Since it is government institute so it is quite feasible and in addition to that there are many scholarship programmes in which a student can participate to get the partial/complete fees waiver.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many such as chief minister scholarship programme, minority scholarship programme, alumni scholarship programme et al.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio depends on the branch you opt to pursue. No issues regarding racial, religious, sexual discrimination. There is very much of tolerance in the college and hostel environment.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities in our time was okay. Like normal food in weekdays and special in weekends. No separate canteens for veg/non-veg foods. Quality was okay in first 2 years but improved drastically in the last two years.

Alumni/Alumna

Our university has a huge alumni network spread across the entire globe. Alumni associations are really helpful and interactive. One such association is GAABESU.

Exam Structure

In total it is a 4 years course divided into 8 semesters. There are many courses, so there are internals, project submissions, viva, grand viva, final exams after every semester.

Faculty

3.5

Some of them are very good but some of them are of mediocre level. Such as the professors of Digital Electronics, Communications, Electro magnetic theory were very good, but professor for analog electronics was sort of okay.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
