Aspects of my college

The course curriculum is decided by WBSU. I believe the course curriculum is very light compared to other universities. As I was a student of 1+1+1 system. We had to sit for one internal test and then for the finals we had to go to alotted college. Now it's in semester system so two semester exams and few internals are taken.

Our college does not provide any internship in 90% courses. But there's a placement cell and every year they conduct some campus recruitment drive. Though the companies do not conduct interviews of different departments, mostly the companies are either call centres or they ask students to sit for their entrance tests.

There are 4 main events. The first one is Student Welcome that happens in August. Then there's teacher's day. An annual fest Saagnik happens in December January. Annual sports takes place in winter. Independence day, republic day others are celebrated as well.

The fee structure is very reasonable. most of the courses are sponsored by colleges but some courses are self financed. Microbiology and computer science are two most expensive courses. But the fees in our course is lesser than many other colleges.

I've not availed any scholarship. There are probably no loan facilities as this is a govt sponsored college. But there are several scholarships for financially weak students. I have no clear ideas about the scholarships.

The labs are well equipped, the sports section is good also NCC NSS departments are there. The annual fest Saagnik are consisted on various competitions. Various charitable activities take place every year.

They are helpful. Though I was not very close to any of the seniors, I didn't really get any help but I've seen others. There are several groups of social media to have the connections in students and we are all part of it.

I filled up form for UG then a list was published according to merit list. I was called to verify my documents. The documents were verified by teachers. Then I gavey admission fees at the college cash counter and I was finally admitted.

The faculty is pretty good though I feel some departments need more teachers. The sound departments are English, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Geography etc. The faculty is quiet helpful whenever needed.
