Course Curriculum Overview

5

I really dont see anything wrong in the curriculam and the teachers of our department teaches pretty great and they often make classes enjoyabale. They give random breaks in between if its tooo much to take in.The exam timings are great compared to the amount of things we havce to study. The unoveristy also inculde CIR courses like aptitude and verbal classes to prepare for the entrance exams

Internships Opportunities

5

I am currently in a internship that is in the collge itself. it doenst say anything about the stipend but there are interships that provide stipend . The engineering and BSW AND MSW are most equipped with interships

Placement Experience

4

Our Course only get placements in the 5th year that is around 10th semester. The placements often focuses on how great you do in your CIR courses and main courses as well. The IT companies often show up for the content writer and such I plan to drop out after 3 years and pursue my MA in english language and literature

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for the courses offered varies based on the seat type chosen and the program chosen. For Int MA English its 5yrs and the tution fees for managemet seat is around 56400 per semester while for non management seat it starts around 12000 per semester which could increase with the decrease of marks earned while the end of each semester. There is no additional charges other than the hostel fees is around 74000 per year

Campus Life

5

The events like VIDYUT, PRAYAANA, SCINQUEST and held every year apart form the celebrations of other indian festivals and they do conduct poojas and such in univeristy too.The libraray is so vast for the studnets of AI and engineering but for english literature students its pretty less to dependable to. The classroom is equpped with a white board and a projector and white backround scrool and fans and benches and individual chairs. There rae a lot of clubs and events you could be a part of but trust me the managemnet is always going to hinder in everything i mean everythinggg. There are people watching you always

Hostel Facilities

5

I wish i rented a pg or something.. you cant even change to pg after getting into hostel{ you have to get insulted by the faculty and your parents should too if u wanna change hostel to pg }. The mess food is bad as i said very spicy and boring and its hard to eat everyday.the hostel rooms are small compared to the money you pay and u have no cupboads to keep you clothes but openings under you bed also they provide with a table + almirah that cant even hold stuff .The rooms are often seem with paints scarpped off and the flush water in bathroom is sandy and it accumulates in the toilet over time { you have to clean that too or you have to pay someone to do so The wardens are the worst you need permissions for like everysingle thing that you will hate you life eventually .This is the most honest review i can ever wirte trust me experience speaks for itself

Admission

I attended the CUET exam where i applied to Delhi University, EFLU, Hyderabad central University and BHU but i didnt get in any so i had to apply for Amrita and i got in through an interview and i just got it. I didnt get into the other collges because of the marks i scored in CUET, was pretty bad actually and i was kinda lazy to study for it too. The admission experience was smooth and worked out pretty well with just an interview

Faculty

5

All the faculties of our English department are soo good and helpful towards the students .We can share with them stuff that we are anxious about it could be anything and they will always be there to listen to you .Ive heard of the other department faculties who treat their students badly. There is 2 sets of exams the mid terms and the end sems.If u score good for Mid terms you can work light on the end sems

Night Life

5

There is no night life for girls who are in hostels. You have to be in the hostel rooms by 530 and after 830 you cant go outside your own hostel building. There is a gym in hostel but for students its only open in the early morning by 4 and for staff in the evening. There is cafteria in hostel premises too but no use same food to the mess

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is suitable for the modern age of teaching, the way of education is well balanced with projects, assignments, presentations and also notes .we have reading assignments where the faculty members ask us to read an entire book and give our review on it.the exams are quiet moderate and in my opinion teachers should use more ai tools as a learning aid which will be more effective for the students

Placement Experience:

From the last semester pass out we a re eligible for the campus recruitment for job or placement. So many companies visit us for the interview or some checking like , hero honda , maruti suzuki etc. the main reason for it was a low amount of budget is that get from this placement maybe 15 thousand let month ect. Only the company can take the students for it so the percentage of the students who getting placement will change in every year. My plan was to get an admission in the central government University for doing master of degree in History. And try the best exam called upsc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are many aspects of the curriculum that infulenced my decision to choose BA English Literature in St. Berchmans College. Their syllabus is far more challenging and interesting than what other colleges and universities offer in Kerala. The examinations and overall assessment of projects and grades are top-tier and is comparatively difficult to obtain. The course steadily provides good quality information and knowledge on English Litearture and readies the student to be more than qualified for further studies in English Literature or any related courses. The areas where they can improve in the course curriculum is through availing more optional courses such as various other language courses/philosophy related courses to be selected. Their teaching environment can also be improved by improving basic infrastructure in the classrooms such as airflow etc. They conduct their exams freequently and on time. The examinations are challenging but necessary for overall improvement in students
