The relevance of Metallurgy and Materials Science in India and in world is more as this course is used in Manufacturing, defence,etc and the fact is in Odisha it is considered the one of the best branch . The best core branch after mining and ECE

Can't say about that as I am first year student but to my sources as I know there are very good intership program and there are some special internship that are given like Har Gobind Internship program
Placement Experience
The campus placement in NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ROURKELA is excellent not outstanding as the average placement is around 13,00,000 and the highest was 1.82 crore from Electronic and Instrumentation Department but Metallurgical and Materials Science Engineering also have 100 percent placement and median and average is almost same around 12 lacs
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is divided into eight board categories That includes eight semester fees. The fees has to be made for each semester To be approximating for each semester the students must pay around 1,00,000 that includes hostel and tution fee Tution fee is around 60,000 and is waived off for SC / ST and students who have family income less than 1,00,000 and those you have family income in between 1,00,000 and 5,00,000 2/3 rd amount of tution fee are waived off You can apply for scholarship by NITRIS ,or Private Scholarship Test are there that provide scholarship
Campus Life
The campus is huge , it has all type of sports equipped in each hostel and also a common sports area it has a olympics size swimming pool and centralised gym and gym are also there in each hostel and the campus is second largest in size after IIT KGP
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is the only thing that this institution lacks Not saying that all hostel in the campus are bad but the hostel that I am staying is not good and the mess food are initially the best but the quality degraded over time and we got acquainted with it
Admission
I choose this college because it is the best college in Odisha and I don't want to go outside of Odisha and it is far better that IIT BBSR and Some tier 2 and tier 3 IITs and also better than all private colleges in odisha
Faculty
The NITR follows the hardest academic curriculum as they have a policy of 85 percent attendance and the exam are like 1 mid sem and 1 end sem for each semester mid sem are of 30 marks and end sem are of 50 marks and 20 marks are given by professor as Teaching Assistant and the total it is 100 and it is very difficult to fail in exam The maths is only subject i don't like as they follow Central Checking
Night Life
The night look fantastic and the only demerits are the dogs in the campus that create nuisance and there are many hangout place like Kaventers , Dominos , LT 6 , and many cafes even There is also student Activities Centre
