- We have a beautiful seminar room, highly educated teachers. They teaches us very well. But regular Occurance of classes is necessary and infrastructure improvements are required..
- I am involved in NSS, National Service Scheme. I have done grooming nearby my college campus.
- We have total 6 faculties in our department. All of them are expertise in diff expects of the course.
Dislikes
- They don't provide placement. After the completion of graduation.
- Infrastructure quality is not well. It need to be renewed.
- We have many plants, herbs and tress nearby our college campus. . They helps us in medicinal uses. Taught by the faculties.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am interested in the subject from class 12 . I am interested in biology. As after graduation . I can apply for any laboratories. They do practical classes in laboratories. Improvement is in proper... Smart board, ( projector) , regular occurance of classes. The exam occurs in 2 shifts.... Streams of Science and commerce 1 shift and BBA and arts other shift. The level is medium... which is good for all types of students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Gurucharan College, commonly called as G.C college, Silchar is one of the best college. I am pursing the course B. Sc in Botany( Honours) . And 2 minor paper as "Zoology and Biotechnology" . All these are according to my interest. For this I have to pay the fees ? 15680 per year. But some of my batchmate pays ?7480 per year because they don't pursing the course biotechnology.
Campus Life
Our college celebrates Sarswati puja, Durga puja... , Annual sports meet etc. There are many piles and piles of books for different departments and stream and many others comics etc. We have 6 fans, projector etc. Our college have field they conduct Annual sports meet. Seniors run groups likeAVP
Admission
1 only appied for Gurucharan college Silchar. In Botany department and Biotechnology department. I got selected in both but.... I accepted for Botany ( Honours). Because I have heard about the academics side of my different seniors . They teaches very well. No not like that happened to me. The process of admission is in 12 based marks. It's easy for the reservation students like ST/ Sc and Obc but difficult for A general student like me due to high cut off.
Faculty
There are total 6 faculties and 2-3 laboratories in our department . The ratio between teachers and student is 1:8. They are very friendly and supportive to students. They took us for a field trip ( according to the syllabus provided by Assam University) and provided us field work. I like Nirupam Sir ( Nirupam Malakar) and Mridul Mohan Das sir ,His teaching way is very practical and different. He teaches us in smart board ( animated photos) for our better understanding. I don't like : Ashim Das Ashtapati and Euniky mam's way of teaching they are good but.. I don't understand their way of teaching. They are 2 semesters exam and internals. The level of the exams are medium ( according to me) Almost every student passed The course is relevent as it provide us practical knowledge.. We got knowledge about the plants some are used in medicinal uses.
Night Life
Our college have a gym, where students work out. Library where students studies. Various books. Hostel provides time table for dinner, lunch, breakfast. Classes start from 6:30 am. We have a big jackfruit tree, under which we can study by sitting.
